Welcome back :aok
Yea the rut is on full steam here in PA...The time of year around here you drive a bit slower....Had a buck run thru my back yard on saturday morning about 6am.....I could have had a Metallica concert going on in the yard, and that deer would have never looked up.....he was nose to the dirt and hot on the heels of his honeys.. :aok
Good luck monday, sorry to hear about your truck

Good luck with the rifle, sorry about your vehicle.
If it makes you feel any better I saw one running down my street last sunday night and although I didn't think it was possible the stupid thing tripped on the curb and faceplanted.
I don't know if I'll get one this season but I do plan on doing this for christmas.

Get ya some of those deer whistles for your grill. No guarantee they work, but it couldn't hurt. Last deer I tagged was in my 94 Explorer while running about 70. Saw the deer come up out of the ditch, stop and look around then dart across the road. Whew, wasn't even close. I get off the brake and on the gas right when the 2nd one pops out and goes for broke. He made it to directly in front of me right as I got back on the brakes. Never saw where he went. Luckily the front of the older Explorers was squared off and it pushed him under instead of over. But there was no carcass or blood trail in the road, odd. It shattered the grill and pushed the bumper into the front left tire, but stopped short of taking out the a/c condenser. It did fubar the left quarter panel when the bumper bent.

Some claim that the whistles do not work.
In my experience, it makes them look, at the very least. It gives that extra split second to go for the brakes when those eyes light-up.
I haven't used them in a while however. Between the size of the tires and knobs on the tread of the Jeep, a deaf person can hear me coming for a mile down the road.
