Title: Major flight stick issues
Post by: Callisto13 on November 01, 2013, 10:43:05 PM
I bought a new joystick a week or so ago. It has been working fine. But today when I was trying to fly my plane would keep on wanting to roll to the left. I have tried to recalibrate it on Windows, as well as Aces High, but I can't seem to fix it. I even tried to change the deadpan I think is what it is called. I am out of ideas. Any suggestions from anyone before I throw the thing against the wall?

Also I am running Windows 8 and have a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro flight stick.

Also I can turn to the right somewhat ok, and dive ok. But if I pull back in the stick to get elevation it rolls to the right. I'm just trying to give as much info as possible.

I'm not familiar with the 3D pro but I know on the CH fighterstick there is a trim wheel that if it gets moved will make the stick behave like you are describing.

They don't call them "LogiCRAP" for nothing!

OK start from the beginning. Go to the game controllers section in windows and check the stick there. Right click on the stick and select properties and see if the stick responds correctly. Move it through all axises and watch to see if it moves to all 4 corners of the box. If it is all messed up here it is most likely a problem with the stick. You could delete the controllers reboot and try re-installing it to see if that clears it up.

If it works fine in the windows test then it isn't being recognized by the game right. Going through the complete setup.... use the drop down to select the controller, high light the controller and select advanced, calibrate all axises, select each axis for each control elevators, rudder and so on, and save it.

My guess is the stick is more than a year old and is failing. Good luck!

Thank guys. I will try all of your suggestions. I have only had the stick a week, and if it still isn't working right, I guess I have to go to Best Buy and exchange it for another one. They only had this one kind of stick so I will have to still get the same one.

It's working correctly again! Thank you all for your help with this. It just saved me a hour and a half trip to get another stick. You all rock!
