First impressions

It looks nice but the single player campaign is nothing more than a bunch of boring set piece scripted events that you've done before in previous CoD games. I'm sure multiplayer will be no different, the same as previous CoD games.

Not getting raves. They lost me after Black Ops.
To each their own tho. Many love the franchise and I dont get into "this vs that" Wars.

In my opinion BF3 set the stage. Seems CoD has just gotten repetitive with nothing that seems revolutionary in the series. I lost interest after MW2 when they seemed to make it more of an console game exported to the PC on top of the cheesy perks that are gotten after a certain kill streak. Battlefield just seems to have taken over as a higher level of realism into the game. Maybe just me, but outside the CoD diehards that will only buy CoD, seems BF has gained more players especially with the hype up that BF4 has gotten.
Im with Rich, last CoD I got was Black Ops and still regret getting it. Was a waste of money in my opinion. I will be getting BF4 eventually, just havent found the time to do so yet.

I hate the way the character selection works for multiplayer, and I preferred the old challenges to the objectives system. The online play seems decent. It was nice to not get shot by a camper with an LSAT and a target finder. The thing that's like zombies but with aliens might be OK, haven't played but a couple rounds. Loved the astronaut part at the beginning of the campaign, great graphics.

I'm not too impressed. I agree with previous posters, after the last Black Ops 2, it's taken a major nose dive. The first 2 or 3 games are far more fun to replay than it is to play these last few new ones.
28 gigs to download, I was maxing out at 12.5 megabytes/sec, and it still took 40 minutes or so with the slowdowns from Steam. It has to be the largest game I've ever installed - I remember not too long ago hard drives weren't even large enough to install it. Crazy.

The levels were you're Ripley the dog are the best ones of the game.

I stopped buying them after MW2. I've played every one since, just haven't spent any money on them. It looks like the same old, re-skinned 'COD' BS.
I remember when the Call of Duty series was made by a great group of guys who wanted to not only make a great game, but show honor and appreciation to our military in doing so. That ended after the first Modern Warfare. Activision and Treyarch took over and the best of the Infinity Ward guys went on to create Respawn Entertainment.

I want Titanfall...my impression

Love the TV commercial. But I'm all in on Planetside 2. Massive battles > anything else. Can't believe its F2P as well.

Same here. The storyline got really weak by the time MW2 came around. Broken multiplayer (hackers). Friend of mine bought COD Ghosts on Steam (PC) and within 2 hours of playing... found hackers. Means they are using same old system, same old defense. When I was 13-14 I found that stuff fun. Would pride myself to get 30+ kills in MW2 (or 100+ in cod4, on some maps).
But looking back on it, I don't see how I found any of that fun. When I get my new computer I will be looking towards Bf3, and keeping an eye on Bf4 to see if it's worthy. Heard of many bugs and troubles on Bf4.
I hate it when the companies hash and re-hash games. Call it something else by putting paint on it and selling it at full price!
Great examples are. Assassin's Creed and Call of Duty.
But out of the two AC's storyline is more solid, compared to Call of Duty's.
*Looks at post* I think out loud too much.. um.. :uhoh
So yeah I agree.

Ive played 4 days without a crash in BF4. have an issue? Try a total reinstall. It solved all my boys problems.

I am enjoying Ghosts....playing on xbox 360 for now.
I only play multiplayer...never cared much for campaigns.
I am glad they designed the maps to allow some real sniping, not just quickscoping.

Did a quick runthrough of the campaign on my friend's xbox, and I'm not impressed at all. Plot has gone beyond mediocre and into the realm of actively bad. Of course, the more I think on it, the more I'm convinced they crossed that line back at MW3.
Multiplayer is very meh. And multiplayer has always been a tertiary attraction for me. I think maybe its time to give up on CoD :old:.
But I'm really REALLY looking forward to Destiny, and Titanfall.

Well BF4 has one map worth the price alone. Its Called Paracel Storm and its a battle on Island in the South China sea which includes small Navy boats. About 1/2 thru the map a Typhoon comes thru and its the most amazing graphical, immersive experience Ive ever had in a game. I dont know if COD can match that but no other game ever has. If you ever get a chance play that one map on a good system.

Question. Can you play with guys on the os4 if your on a ps3? I heard u could but cant find the information to back this up.
