5 secs from dropping a CV I get that message, crash to desktop and screen freeze. Used task mgr to get functional. Rebooted AH hoping AI would at least keep me airborne. Nope.
This has never happened before to my desktop box. Nothing's changed. Any clues? :headscratch:

You're running Windows by Microsoft...something always changes, even if you don't do anything. It could be an antivirus updating files (or scanning files that AH was using), some other program colliding in memory with AH, or any number of other things out of your (and HTC's) control.

Interesting, I seem to be having the same problem that Max is.
Firewall is down - disabled.
Avast isn't opening
McAfee isn't opening either.
I've heard the above two 'anti-virus' programs aren't really gamer friendly. What anti-virus programs do you guys recommend?
:salute

I've been using ESET NOD32 Anti Virus for years (it's pay ware but very reasonable) and have never gotten infected with anything I'm aware of. It now comes with a gaming friendly interface but I normally disable it when I log on. If you use it, you must turn off Microsoft Security Essentials or any other anti-malware/virus programs.
Avoid McAfee and Norton AV at all costs.

If you really have two active antivirus programs running at the same time, that's asking for big trouble. I've noticed Avast will install but won't open if there's another antivirus already running. Some other combinations won't even boot to desktop. Some installations will inform you about a conflicting program, some won't. And yes, McAfee and Norton have been said to be the worst enemies of AH.

I misspoke. ESET recommends uninstalling any other AV programs before installation.
