?

Odd scheme. Can you prove that it was used in combat?
-
There are some more images but would you know it cant find them at the moment, but here is some to be going on with.
According to my information she was a assembly ship to bring all the bomber together

ahhhh...... I remember g'pa speaking of B24's that had white and red striped wings and tail section being used for "marshaling" purposes. :aok
-
Rgr that there are many different ones the most famous being Spotted Ape, I would have love to done that but it is a model "D"

Yeah, I know the issues with the D vs J model thing puts a damper on things for me. My g'pa flew the B24D up and down the slot and I have pics of his plane but the skin can't be modeled since AH's B24 is a J. :frown:
-
Sheesh! No missing that! :lol
-
That is a nice skin HornetUK, but I vaguely recall from when the AH B-24 first came out that HTC said assembly ships would not be permitted as skins as they were not combat aircraft. Might be worth emailing them to check.
-
That is annoying if you are right, and it is not mentioned on the guide lines on the submissions page. Just that the skin must be used in the second world war.
I will check on that.

Greebo, who is the best person at HTC to get an answer on this any ideas?
-
I believe Pyro is the person who decides these things, but normally you'd just email support and Skuzzy would direct the query as needed.

Thank you very much for that, very helpful sir.
As someone in the know about finding great images, any ideas of your own for some great b24 skins. Something extra fun not looking for the mundane

I have given Greebo some in the past if he chooses to pass on them I will pass a few on to you.
-
Yes If you can find out that would be great
-
Feel free to pass on any info Lyric1, I'm not planning on skinning more B-24s for a while.

OK lets start off with this one for now. Not to extreme yet but is still a little unusual.

Great Work Sir when I finish off the ones I am working on I will sure do those!
-
You want to cause controversy you will get it with this one. There is no guns on any of these photos as they were all taken out just prior to the aircrafts return to the USA after VE day. They did fly with them & this plane did look like this while on missions. If you notice under the left wing R4T is written there not sure what colour R4T is written in it looks to be anything other than white though. Red maybe? Looks to be the same colour as the rest of the R4T lettering on the fuselage & tail.
Tar Baby.

OK Tar Baby a little to controversial & probably rightly so.
Next.
"Yellow Nosed Monster".
The tail number is wrong in the book it is in fact 41-28802. Also note the tongue is not drawn correctly in the profile.

Edit: If you look in this book it shows the patterns that were painted on top of the tails of these 15TH air force B-24's in this case look for the 459TH bomb group.
