I have a cousin, Roger Aldag, that played for the 89 Riders that won the Grey Cup.  It's a shame the US teams folded back in the mid 90's and the sport didn't grow as predicted into the American market.  Having 8 teams in a league, and only having 2 that don't make the playoffs makes the regular season seem pretty unimportant and well..lame compared to the NFL, even though with 3 downs instead of 4 there is a TON more action, not to mention more spectacular offensive receptions with the larger enzones and such too.

I'll be watching the game.  Dubious, you live in SK?

:aok  Good thread.  Wish I knew more about Canadian Football.

-
Is it on TV in the States?  It's going to be well after the Browns-Steelers game, so I'm definitely interested in watching - just can't find a listing.

Game time is ~5:30 central on the 24th.

Go Riders ! only cause the Bombers were brutal this year.  :devil

3 downs instead of 4.  Slightly different size of field.

Interesting game because it is more based on passing than running.

I lived over there for 12 years....never went to a game.

110yd goal line to goal line, end zones 20yd deep, width 65yd

 12 players instead of 11

No sissy fair catch rule on kicks. :O

I do live in SK, right in the home city of Regina.

The best shirt I saw while partying hard all week was an older lady (good looking) with a shirt that said, "Put your Grey Cup in my Regina!"

The city was wild with the Rider victory! Thanks to all CFL fans for making this 101st Grey Cup memorable! I had a blast!!! (and didn't goto work yesterday)....

Purdue graduate Kory Sheets won the MVP!  He was quite good in the Tiller years, its good to see he's still having success.

I believe that the Canadian Football is a better game.  Much bigger field, more wide open play.

The NFL has the better players...because it can afford to pay them.
