Title: Amazon Prime Air
Post by: Triton28 on December 02, 2013, 07:47:05 AM
http://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/2013/12/01/amazon-bezos-drone-delivery/3799021/ (http://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/2013/12/01/amazon-bezos-drone-delivery/3799021/)

Two questions:  How many dogs will die every year trying to attack these things?  When operational, how long will it take before someone starts a drone jacking ring and what will Amazon do about it?

GPS locators for drones.  As for the dogs...I think the drones should be armed with tasers.  ;)

You could always pull a Borne Legacy, rip the locator out and stuff it down a wolf's throat.    :old:

Seriously, I could picture one of my dogs going nuts and attacking that thing.  I would hunt that drone down if it killed my dog.

If you let your dogs run free, won't they hunt down the UPS guy then too?

Maybe, but the UPS guy would have a choice to not deliver the package.   :)

Amazon apologises for the delay in delivering your order. However it is now available for collection anytime. You'll find it hanging in high voltage powerline only two blocks from your house. Thank you for your order.

They're having a laugh. It's a totally impractical idea. Sounds like of those publicity stunts used by certain airline chief over here.

Imagine how long before every tree and powerline would be festooned with the things.  On windy days they would be blown into the next State or through your bedroom window. The bodies of decapitated dogs and children would litter the streets. People would shoot them down in droves.

What if you lived in an apartment on the twenty second floor or even the first floor?

It's a hilarious idea but not very sensible.

I can't even picture the carnage this would cause to our air traffic system.

Dr. Jeff Goldblum, the lead scientist at Brundle-Fly Teleport Technologies, is confident the bugs will get ironed out soon.   :D
