Damn shame.

But the article is wrong. Heffron wasnt a part of Easy during the D-Day landings. Not that it matters

A young, 17-year old trooper fighting in Okinawa in August of 1945 would be 85 years old today. We are loosing this generation at a rapid clip. With them goes NOT just the living stories they carry with them. With them goes a set of values long lost to their children, the Baby Boomers. And by default, lost to my fellow Generation Xrs and beyond. It is a different world today, both good and bad.

I am trying to set up an interview with a B-24 pilot who flew the first Polesti Raid from North Africa. I am going to video it and will likely do a YouTube. I don't want to be arrogant but if I can pull this off and any have interest I can post a link here.

In fact, I know many of you on this board have incredible connections. We should consider doing our own collection of oral histories. Just a thought. In any case...
