For not being upset enough after the Tides loss to Auburn.
Unbelievable!

Heard about this on sports radio this morning very sad and uncalled for....did you hear where the guy who poisoned the trees at Toomers Corner (not spelled right) said he wished he would have waited... :lol ...them 'Bama fans are nuts....BOOMER!!!!

If the woman had had a gun this never would have happened

I, for one, can't think of a more ideal situation than a shootout between a bunch of drunk people at a bowl game party
-
If she hadn't had a gun she wouldn't have been able to shoot that other lady, so she probably would have only stabbed her a few dozen times.

Or do what most drunks do around the world when there are no guns, throw a punch or 2. Sure that can kill too but the chances are much smaller before they would have broken it up.
I really don't think this lady would have bulked if the victim was packing. Did she wave the gun around for a bit or did she just pull it out and shoot? If she waved it around for a bit then sure maybe she might have backed down, or it might have made her shot first if the victim had pulled one on her. If she pulled it out and shot the victim quickly, what good would the victim having a gun do?

You obviously don't understand
Widespread availability of guns makes everybody safer
America is a perfect example (http://www.tribalwar.com/forums/images/smilies/flag.gif)

At the risk of starting a gun control debate (I'm sorry Skuzzy)
It's interesting that the UK has a higher rate of violent crime with all it's gun control laws then the US does. So do a number of other countries with strict gun control. More people are killed here with baseball bats and knives then firearms anyway, and a lot more are killed by drunk driving. Only reason firearms get all the attention is because it's a "sexier" topic for the news.

I always thought the Texas/OU rivalry was bad when growing up. Then I saw the Michigan/OSU rivalry with Woody and BO and thought.. Nope that one is worse. Then while stationed in Arizona I came up on the
UA/ASU rivalry and thought nothing could get be a ridiculous as it. Then I found the Iron Bowl. Now that's just pure hate for hates sake.

Why am I not surprised this happens in the South, more specifically over football.

Well you asked..
Because you're too narrow minded to realize things like this happen all over the world when it comes to sports. Plus you feel you're superior to people from the South for whatever reason and this is your big chance to somehow morally justify your own misplaced prejudices??

Effin tragic is what it is. I'm am a diehard Bama fan as any other (reasonable people) and never considered something no evil or extreme after a loss.

Please expound on your cryptic comment for me. I grew up in Alabama and probably just too dumb to catch your underlying meaning. Spell it out in big letters for me please - you know I am not that bright; being from the south and all....
-
The LSU-Arkansas rivalry is probably our most contentious. Don't recall anybody losing their life over any of the "battle for the boot" outcomes though.
During the season I said I'd be happy with all of our losses if we could just beat LSU. Came dang close to pulling it off, but blew it with weak talent and poor play calls in the 4th quarter. Started playing "not to lose" instead of playing to "win", gets you beat every time.

BTW bright star - the proper punctuation for your sentence is "?".

You... southerners.... are.... nuts.... simple enough for you?
Though you must have a pretty serious persecution complex for your mind to immediately draw the conclusion that I'm calling you stupid.

I have no complex - I am comfortable with my existence. Don't try to divert pokes resulting from your ill-thought statement - which quite honestly says much about your character. I assure you that neither I nor most southerners are "nuts".

Having said that, I will back off if you simply edit your post to reflect something more constructive or delete it altogether. I will in turn do the same with my posts.

I guess everyone knows an Alabama fan poisoned a stand of giant old oak trees on campus. I will also say a lot of Alabama fans donated a lot of money to try and save the trees. The guy was a nut.

Yeah if someone says something you don't like on the internet, they should be censored.
You are everything that is wrong with America these days *spit*
What's the point of even being a member of a forum if you can't deal with other people having *gasp* different opinions to you?

If you are OK with someone labeling the entire Southern U.S. population as being an evil entity then eff you <spit>
Would you say that to my face?
-

Irrelevant, as he didn't label anything as 'evil', let alone the entire Southern population
Ugh I can't believe I'm defending Tank-Ace :uhoh

Assures people that he and other Southerners are not nuts
Goes nuts about the South being called evil when no one said any such thing
Don't shoot me bro :(

Nobody here is considering shooting anyone. However, I will call it as it is - Your confidence behind that keyboard gives you a false sense that you're a man when in fact you are nothing more than an internet hero (= nothing).

face it you are his equal in here.

Actually I think in this kind of situation, where 'you wouldn't say that to my face' chest-thumping is put aside, you can see people much more accurately for who really they are.
You are judged entirely on what you say, how you can prove what you say with logic and rational discourse, and whether you are capable of accepting other points of view.
In this thread we see that you:
a) Don't understand what people say and instead get mad about something that you yourself have implied - the persecution complex Tank-Ace mentioned
b) Rely on straw man arguments
c) Wish to censor people who have different opinions to you
d) Fall back on 'I'm a big tough man so no one would dare to argue with me in real life'
I guess you could say that I am guilty of being an argumentative pr**k, and I wouldn't debate that :D

Well that just took all the fun out of this thread. :lol

This I posted to reflect on todays society. I by no means wanted to start an argument about something to do with where one is from,
their race, or their religion. We all have the same hopes, aspirations and dreams. In general we may have to rethink our priorities.
I said WE!
Sorry I posted this.

Insane how much into it they are about college football down there. I love football, but wow. It looked like if you were for Auburn the liquor flowed from the fire hydrants, and the women layed back in ecstacy. If you were a Bama fan..you were lucky if you didnt get shot!
-
I don't understand the college football ranking stuff :(
Otherwise I would probably be a lot more into it.
Although, hopefully not enough to shoot someone.

I'm sure that if you'd give guns to euro football fans they'd shoot each other as well

Why am I not surprised how you worded this makes you sound like an idiot. :aok

I moved to North Carolina about 4 years ago from New Jersey. I don't even care if my IQ is
dropping, this place is great! Good people, nice weather, lots to do...what's not to love :aok :neener:

Geographical superiority complex. Jersey?

did you move to the north Carolina that is above south Carolina, because when I lived there it had two seasons extremely hot and humid and fricking colder than a polar bear's azz.

Idaho, from age 0 through 13. One of the least pretentious (and most accent-free :neener:) states in the Union :aok.

so you are being pretentious about it being almost 100% white?

I don't know about that. There's a decent sized Hispanic population, at least in the Southeast part of the state. For that matter, white people can have accents as well. Look at New York, the South, the UK, Ireland, etc.
Besides, I really don't care about your accent (as long as you're intelligible), I was just poking fun at the Jersey/east-coast accent.

That's the only North Carolina I know :D It does get quite warm, but here in Charlotte 20 F is
about the coldest it gets. Where most of the natives are wearing parkas, I'm still in short sleeves :lol

come to milwaukee...i'll show you moronic nut cases...daily.

He doesn't need to go anywhere for that, as long as he has this forum bookmarked...
