I have a bunch of downloaded movies, but when I put a couple on DVDs, they will only play on my PC, not a regular DVD player. Does anyone know the correct file type I need to have them in to play on a DVD player? If I remember right, the movies I tried were in mp4 format.

I used windows movie maker, I was thinking I used mp4 format, I wasted about a dozen dvds before I figured it out :lol I dont remember, but I am almost certain it was mp4. I googled it and came up with VOB format, I dont remember that one.

I used to use Nero to burn movies onto a DVD so I can play later on my DVD. Nero did the conversion for me as it had an option to select to burn to DVD and would do everything else, including making a main selection menu screen. The only times I had an issue is when I tried to burn .mov files, for some reason Nero didn't like that and the DVDs wouldn't play on my DVD player.
