Title: December Week 1 Storms
Post by: Hap on December 09, 2013, 09:38:42 AM
In Casper, Wyoming day before yesterday we got up to -7.  Yesterday 12 was the high.  Right now at 8:36AM, we're at 0.  12 supposed to be the high today.  Relief supposedly comes tomorrow, we'll be 20 something.

Not much snow accumulation now.  We got snow last Thursday I think.  Roads very slick.

How's it in your neck of the woods?

Today is freezing rain/sleet and changing to all rain.  Then it's gonna be iceberg city for the rest of the week.

About 25 degrees and sunny here in Central Illinois (The Peoples' Socialist Republic of Illinois) today...  We had a small amount of freezing rain yesterday evening, not enough to disrupt things too much.

The worst of the bad weather missed us to the South by about 30 miles.

Here in NE Oklahoma we got 1/8 inch of ice with an inch and a half of sleet with 5 inches of snow on top...all travel treacherous except on main highways, it hasn't been above freezing since Wednesday night of last week... but other than that rabbit and squirrel hunting are very good  :D  I bet if a person could make it below the dams on Lake Eufaula or Robert S. Kerr Reservoir the striper will be jumping out of the water

Nearly a foot in northern Delaware. They called for an inch changing to rain by afternoon. Riiiiight! They're calling for 2-4" tomorrow so is that feet now? Guess I'll have to finally put gas in my snow blower. Summarized it two seasons ago and it hasn't really snowed here since!

Snow in December. Imagine that.

Cap got lucky. An hour north of him and we only got a few inches.. Jusst enough for me to break out the blower.

I personally like the snow. for it to be winter and just cold grey and ugly. I hate that. If its gonna be cold. I want snow

Well at least the Hunger games legislation hasnt passed yet.

Well, if you listen to the union folks who are getting shafted by the Illinois State Government as it tries to dig its way out of the unfunded pension crater it has created...  Well, they might tell you that the Hunger Games legislation has been passed here.

Pretty much the same for me about 3 hours drive west of you.  Roads became safe this afternoon.

i gotta say....i'm pissed/dissappointed with todays snow. there wasn't enough to fire up the snow blower. i got home, and the driveway's clear. as are the sidewalks. i REALLY wanted an excuse to fire that blower up.

I finally got mine ready to roll as it got dark Monday night after two years of sitting in the back of the shed. The good news is it fired right up :aok! Then I came home to the same thing, it was pretty much all melted off the driveway and sidewalk. My women had the day off tho. Ya'd think they might have gone out and at least brushed off their cars? Nah! Dad will get it!

Looks like frozen glop on Saturday and just plain cold otherwise. About time winter showed up around here! Been a while!
