With a sad heart but happy memories that I'm retiring from the AvA (aka Combat Theatre) as an administrator effective January 1, 2014. Bastogne December 1944 will be my last setup for the week of December 20-26th. I'm going to remain in the advisory council for the AvA for the next while.
It has been a pleasure donating over 10 years of my time to make the AvA a great place to fly and it will still continue to do so with the crew we have now!

Fork, thank you - from all of us. The AvA has a significant effect on this game, whether people fly there or not, even whether they enjoy their time there or not. We've been able to see rolling plane sets, extended campaigns, no-enemy-icons settings, variable weather and, of course, the routine ability to see just how the real-life opponents stack up against each other. The experiences gained from those opportunities allow the AH community see how theories translate into reality.
You put in a huge amount of work to make this happen. I know: I saw it, and so did plenty of others. We would send you a brown paper bag full of gratitude if the postal services penetrated to the forbidden depths of Canada. Hey, it's waiting for you down here if you ever come into this jurisdiction!

I remember when we first got together. You'd decided to request smaller terrains back when it was still the CT. At the time, it was a novel idea that's become sop now.
I guess we'll let you retire, but you'll never be allowed to stop updating the vehicle service date threads! You've got that assignment for life! :devil
Enjoy your retirement. We all need a break from time to time.

That's the plan Arlo - not leaving AH but leaving my role as an admin. Wow, a decade as an admin is a really really long time. :)

and thanks all for your comments. It's appreciated.

Mister Fork
When I came over here from WB's, I knew very little about AH, went straight to the AvA and never looked back. The players I've met and the fights I've had in there have been well worth my $14.95. Thanks for all your hard work, I probably wouldn't last six months as an admin and to think you've been doing it for 10 years..Awsome! Here's to lots of good fights and plenty of bad guys to shoot at
