Title: Admin Function: editable perk points function
Post by: Mister Fork on December 10, 2013, 04:45:03 PM
Perhaps similar to how we setup aircraft to fields, a way to simply edit perk points for aircraft we have in our setups.  That way we can change their value depending on the setup we do.

+1

Would you rather see it as part of the page where you can enable and disable models? Or are you hoping for a entirely separate page as part of the tabs provided?

So you want to put even more restrictions and limits on your events, to make them less appealing to players? People do the stupidest stuff just to earn teh almightyz perkz, and you want to make them spend those perkz to fly your events?

It would be silly for the SEA where CMs insure the balance, and I'm not totally enthusiastic about it for the AvA. The thing is that it has the potential of allowing planes in limited numbers in an unregulated AvA setup.

The longstanding method of including potentially overbalancing rides has been to place them at rear bases and force someone to fly to the front. Perks might be a better way to balance this.

Yeah, either as part of that menu or another separate one.

What I also envision:
1. An option reset everyone's perk points
2. Ability to gift players perk points or set everyone with a standard amount. I.e. give every player 50 points.
3. Ability to set perk points per aircraft.
4. Turning off earning perk points (we can do that now).

For example, if I wanted to give every player 50 perk points - I would set certain aircraft at perhaps 25 perks, i.e. the Tiffy for mid-war Channel battles - so you essentially have 2 Tiffy aircraft to fly (or unlimited if you never get shot down and land at an airfield).  It could ALSO be a way to force players to better manage their resources, especially tanks. We could have a setup where Germans players start off with 100 perks.  They can take a Tiger out for a run - but it costs 100 perks. Or they could use a Panther for 75 and then have 25 for a Panzer-H or a Panzer-F for 10. If they burn through the fast/fun stuff too quickly, they'll be forced to use the older stuff.  And with earning more perk points turned off, people can't milk to use what ever they want. Just want options to make setups more interesting. :)

Ya know, I said this would be silly for the SEA but I was wrong. They've wanted a way to force limits on rides for years and this would be a great way to insure those limits without depending on "Player Inforced Rules." I withdraw my previous statement.

I have always wanted a way to enable a finite number of certain models to model attrition.
