I'm interested finding more information for (and possibly getting some skins into the game) of the pursuit squadrons that served in the Philippines until the Japanese capture. Specifically the 17th PS. I grew up next door to then Lt. John H. Posten of the 17th, so this has a bit of a sentimental connection for me.
I've found some good information through normal Google searching, but so far not much in the way of pictures. I do have contact info for Mr. Posten's grandson, but I figured I'd check the wealth of information here before I took that step.

Not a lot to work with on this.

Thanks for the links guys. :aok
I just spoke with Mr. Posten's grandson and he's going to go through what he has to see if there's any pictures of his grandfather in a P-40. Hopefully I'll get lucky. :pray
And Ink, any one of these you'd like to skin would be awesome. These squadrons and their contributions in the face of what had to feel like inevitable doom deserves tremendous respect.

Does anyone have this book:
49th Fighter Group: Aces of the Pacific
By William N. Hess

On Page 23 (per Google preview) there seems to be a picture of Mr. Posten sitting on a wing of a P-40. At this point he's attached to the 49th FS in Austrailia. Something looks a little off though. From the preview the first name is clearly John, but the middle initial isn't right. :headscratch:
Edit: took a screen shot

Yes. The man in the picture was a POW by mid 1942. I don't think there were 47s anywhere other than with the 56th in England by that point.
Plus, the man in the picture personally told me he flew P-40s. ;)
