The StG is an assault rifle. "Assault weapon" isn't real.

My grandad fought on the Somme. He had a 2ft steel bar with a 3 inch cube of metal welded to the end for trench fighting. I would suggest it could be construed as an assault weapon :old:

Gun buy back programs are childish. An expensive policy effort to pretend....

I sure hope common sense prevails in this case. And tell me that isn't the basis for the Soviet AK-47
