Hi gang, I normally don't get into much personal stuff on here, well except maybe for cars, but here I go.
My lovely daughter applied to her university of choice 18 days ago.
Today, she got a nice letter from the university stating that out of 30,000 applicants she was chosen for early acceptance due to her SAT scores and that they are waiving entrance examinations and they truly hope she choices to join them in the fall of 2014.
She graduates high school early, next month, only because she chose not to graduate last year because she wanted to be a "senior" and own the school ;)
You all are a great group, and I feel among friends I've knows upwards of 15 years or more and I wanted to share.
I am extremely happy and proud :)
Just thought I'd share with friends.

Congrats!
My daughter just got her acceptance to her first choice school also. She'll be a freshman at Rose-Hulman next fall.
((Rose-Hulman is a small and really good engineering school located in Terre Haute Indiana))

Congrats to you both! Seems to me that there's something special about a daughter's first choice in colleges, I know it was how I felt.
Bet they're dancing, figuratively at least, makes for a great senior year now.

If I may brag just a little? - You may indeed sir. Congrats to your daughter and to you and her mother.
I will too, if you don't mind. I just got an email from my oldest's Housemaster:
Trew - congratulations on MCing and putting together a first class 13 Annual Mac House Holiday Banquet. You did an outstanding job Trew!
Wishing you all the best for a happy holiday season!

He isn't due to go to University for three more years but he is doing great. I am told that he also piped the entire banquet to dinner! You go Trewster!

Nice!
But remember, if her school is on this list, don't be too upset at Bs or Cs: http://www.cbsnews.com/news/grade-inflation-colleges-with-the-easiest-and-hardest-grades
