Maybe I take this more personal than others because I am from Michigan.

Well I would describe that piece as crap reporting, short on facts heavy on bogus political rhetoric but the issue of privatising water is very real and depending on whether you believe water distribution is best done by private operators in a free market or by public entity you can be either excited or depressed. 30 seconds of google time produced this http://articles.washingtonpost.com/2008-09-29/news/36874065_1_bottled-water-ice-mountain-great-lakes-water (http://articles.washingtonpost.com/2008-09-29/news/36874065_1_bottled-water-ice-mountain-great-lakes-water) which explains a lot more.

Ever see the movie "China Town"?

seriously?  another political thread  :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl.  they're selling bottled water in china  :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl

I had flashbacks of the series "V" back in the 80's.  where a million gallons of water was sucked by space ships every second.

Got another link here from National Geographic http://newswatch.nationalgeographic.com/2013/08/20/where-did-the-water-go-busting-5-myths-about-water-levels-on-the-great-lakes/ (http://newswatch.nationalgeographic.com/2013/08/20/where-did-the-water-go-busting-5-myths-about-water-levels-on-the-great-lakes/)

I don't know that it is political to talk about water per se but its probably impossible for this thread not to become political.

really like the op wasnt a political thread to begin with :rofl :rofl :rofl.  the news that was posted was a manipulation of a story about a company selling bottled water in china meant to be a political ploy by the current government.

There are several bottling companies that use Municipal water.
It's printed on the bottle label, yet people buy it :rofl
I think one of the companies uses Cleveland, Ohio's City Water :rofl

Who cares if China is taking our water? We have enough of it to last for centuries.

The only time i'd get butthurt over it is if its the last place with clean water in the world, and even then i'd probably be dead already.

yeah we'll living on the very river they are sucking water out of sucks. Makes it very hard for pleasure boaters and sailers to get around with out running ground

Pretty soon the shipping channel will get shut down at the rate we are losing water.

They won't be satisfied until every ressource is exploited, whatever the consequences are...see Hydraulic fracturing. They get the money, you get to deal with it.

even though I know you are are trolling, well let's just keep with the plan below and the lakes will never be out of water.

so let's all as good americans drink a few beers and pee in the lake.  ask not what the country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.  pee in the lake to let all those poor americans in the boats pollute the lakes, err I mean enjoy the lake.

Gibberish!

All the water and electricity companies in UK are owned by French and German companies :old:

To pay for high wages and bone idleness they put up our gas and electricity prices

French nuclear companies want to build power stations in UK paid for by tax payers

Nuke should look to his own country before talking gibberish
