If one goes missing they should both go in RL they had an explosive pin to blow off the remaining gear for landing.
-
I wish if they did come off there would be some type of aerodynamic benefit. I broke both gear off a Stuka once flush with the fuselage and it didn't even go 1 mph faster. I guess on a positive note those big fixed gear hanging underneath the Stuka don't cause any aerodynamic drag whatsovever.

Interesting. What it automatic, or did you have to trigger it?

I think it was automatic, but I'll have to check on that. If anyone knows, please tell, b/c I was wondering this also.

They had to trigger it, it was originally some weird scheme to dangle one from a zeppelin, thats odd btw baldeagle I will have to check that in e6b :headscratch:
You can still land with one gear missing by dropping in slightly right or left of the concrete and letting the plane spin onto the concrete its just a pain to do.

Thanks for clearing that up. :salute

Rudel's guys used them to scuttle their airframes after landing at an allied field and blocked the runway.

They were used on the some navel versions Ju87C so pilots could ditch on water they did not work well and were not implemented on the D Model. Pilot manuals for the B, R and D show no evidence of these bolts.
Pilots would scrub off the other side on a tree or crash hard on the side still left and break it off.

Just slam the unbroken side on the runway or you can pearl it and slide it on the nose till the back end dumps over. :lol

The drag is modeled for intact gear. The damage model may not change the drag, same as with the internal gear. That could be a wish.

I read a lot on other forums that they were on d models, but if you checked the manuals thats probably more than the other guys did including myself, thanks for clearing that up. :salute

Fly low over a hanger, and knock it off on the roof. :airplane:
