My wife wanted us to do a few new videos for her youtube channel, so we did today. This is the first of the uploads, and I will be adding more in the next day or 2... And, for all of you country-music (her usual genre) haters, a few of them are NOT country... .... check them out, subscribe to her channel... get the word out, spread your thoughts on her skills.... who knows who is out there that might see something they like, and help her reach her dream of becoming a signed recording artist...

She's not bad at all. My guess is that the US music genre is so heavily competitive that it will be hard to make a break. In many other countries she would get signed in an instant judging from the 2 minutes I watched.

I agree. A band would really ramp up the experience and exposure.
I am not an expert but pronunciation with the country song could be a bit stronger. I spent a decent amount of time in the Honkey Tonks of Nashville and they are very clear in pronunciation, for the most part. Her country struck me more of something out of New Orleans jazz, a bit more slurred, vocal as instrument.
She seems to have a very strong voice and likely a pretty solid command of vocal range. On Facebook she can find all kinds of aspiring song writers on the country scene out of Nashville, a small group out of Memphis. They love exposure to their work and love to collaborate. I would search them out.
(PS I know this because in my line of work I ran into some country music stars and they intro'd me to their world. Pretty neat. I'm not a singer type at all though.)

That particular country song actually has a bit of a bluesy vibe to it...im uploading some others. As for a band, she used to sing with her dads band, but it broke up after his Alzheimer got bad... then her mom got lung cancer, and we moved her in with us to take care of her for the past 3 years.... she passed in September..so the wife is just getting back in to singing again due to time constraints..we are looking for a band, but it actually is turning out to be quite difficult to find a good country band... everyone seems to want to do rock... especially hard to find a country band that wants a female lead...I am in the process of learning to play guitar, but that may take a bit, last time I played anything was the trumpet in high school jazz band.....20 years ago...
We will check out the Facebook idea though..that sounds pretty cool...
