Saw a picture of this in earlier post so.....imagine the damage this could do!!! I'd love to take out 6 spawn campers in 1 dive.

Doesn't sound like something that would be factory installed, more like a field mod.
In any case the last thing we need is to encourage the B-38 pilots to hit the hangar because it took longer to get their bombs off or because their planes had an extra 1k of ords strapped to it.

Never before perked ordnance.

Not sure why it would need to be perked ords, its not an unusual loadout, the mission dictates the ords carried for a mission, P-38s were well capable of carrying the ords and have in combat missions.
If P51s can fly with rockets and bombs, the B-38 should be allowed its ords package too.
If were going to start perking the ords, then I would agree, give the P-51D 2 perks if it carries bombs and rockets, or no perks for just rockets or bombs. What this allows is if someone in a 109G6 catches a P51 with ords, the person would be given a ton of perks over it.
With ENY i've always been arguing we need to have perked ords/gun packages, nothing wrong with taking 6x 500lb bombs, it wasn't a prototype and it was used in the war, however it wasn't always used, it was one of the more unusual setups for a plane.
Hell i'd be golden to perk the C.205 and let it have drop tanks (they did carry them, it was simply not really needed due to defending italy). It wouldn't be much, maybe 1 or 2 perks at the most.
Some will argue "well new players don't have the perks, so we are limiting them". Well, they can just as easily fly a higher eny plane like a Ki-84 and gather some perks, shooting down perk loaded aircraft would give a few extra perks.

Butcher, just because we already need a perked ordnance system doesn't mean we should exacerbate the problem by adding more perk worthy loadouts.

While I can't speak for the J, I know the L's Rocket/Bomb combo would be better vs the 6 500lber's. This is however on the memory that the L's R/B combo is still capable of knocking out a hanger and have rockets left over. If my memory is correct, then the L's versatility wins out, seeing as it's easier to aim rockets than to drop bombs. With the left over rockets, you can hit an ack or two after drop. If you think this will encourage a kamikaze hanger, then there isn't a difference. You see them kamikaze a hanger right now with a R/B combo, so this wouldn't change anything other than it is a bit more difficult. Rockets are easier to aim than bombs, and I've seen quite often rockets hit dead on, but bombs fall short or long and the hanger not going down. And while it will see some use initially, most will return to their 51's as those are faster and have better range, or their 47's which can take a LOT more damage and carry nearly as much. Would be cool to run a Pathfinder type mission with this setup though. :)
Overall, I don't see an issue with not including this setup really. I may fly it myself once in a while, but I'll stick to the R/B combo for better versatility. And if falls into a perk ord setup, so be it. But leaving it out simply because a perk ord system isn't in place falls short. After all as one example pointed out, we have 51's with the R/B combo, which would fall under perk ord.

It wasn't installed at the production factory but it was a kit that could be added on the field if the mission required the use of it. I don't believe the 6x 500 pound bombs were used in dive bombing missions, think it was for level bombing missions with a P-38 Droop Snoot at the lead.

Ack-Ack, do you know if on the field mod if all three 500# bombs on one side had to dropped at the same time? I am WAG guessing they would.
