It's currently -5 degrees and dropping here in Ohio. What happened to global warming and what's it like where you are?
-
-20 here in Wisconsin right now.
You think you have it bad, try Minnesota, they're even worse.
-
almost 35 here in vt, supposed to drop back off to -20 then warm back up to almost 50 this weekend :O wtf is going on with this weather?? :headscratch: :rofl
-
Getting down to 12 degrees tonight, in DC. Coldest it's been here in a couple years at least. We don't have it near as bad as some of you rust belt folks though... :uhoh
-
Just saw on the news that it's supposed to be a high of -25 tomorrow with a wind chill of -50. School has also been cancelled again.
Welcome to Wisconsin.
-
Meanwhile, in Australia:
http://news.yahoo.com/australia-endures-hottest-record-031257896.html;_ylt=A0oG7iarKctSPl0A.WNXNyoA;_ylu=X3oDMTB0a2Roc2NtBHNlYwNzYwRjb2xvA2FjMgR2dGlkA1NNRTI4OF8x
It is and has been as hot there as it is and has been cold in the US.
I'm not a GW enthusiast or denialist fwiw. Just someone who can't help but notice extreme weather.
-
were actually lucky here...... Low tonight of 2 downright balmy compared to some of u folks.
Is keeping me busy as heck tho.....sooo many broken pipe claims from the freeze / thaw pattern....Job security i guess
-
Calling for a low of -10 tonight. High tomorrow of 8. Low of 4.
-
Our high today was -5, tonight is supposed to be down to -9. When you add windchill though at present we are -35.
-
We're preparing for a winter chill here on the west coast. TV reports the temps might drop tomorrow, from 68 degrees to 67 degrees on the coast. Might have to break out the winter gear and put on some shorts, ditch work and hit the beach tomorrow.
ack-ack

Take it easy on beach, i've been watching some of this videos on Tube, the measurements are taken by amateurs but with good quality Geiger counters; http://theextinctionprotocol.wordpress.com/2014/01/06/has-fukushima-radiation-already-reached-the-u-s-west-coast/

Jersey where we have a 40 + degree drop in about 12 hours.
 Oz

Please add Celsius to your temperatures :old:
-
Still -5 according to the news, but car was reading -7 at the airport a few min ago.
-
Please add Celsius to your temperatures :old:
meh.
Kelvins might be more appropriate.
-
I wont trust in Kelvin until absolute 0 is proven, as far as I know it is yet to be reached. Therefore inaccurate.
-

-5 F is -20.555 C so -21 if rounded up (or down if that is more accurate)
-

Which is exactly why it's a theory.
Just because it hasn't been proven doesn't mean its inaccurate.

Following your statement I have a theory; You are a little chap 4foot2, with a face like an ogre, a limp, a club foot and a hairy back.
Accurate until proven otherwise.

Hehe

Accurate until proven otherwise.
It's already been proven otherwise, just dig around in the "Pictures of players" thread somewhere in the O'Club.
Maybe if you weren't such a dick while trying to act cool people wouldn't think you're a raging idiot at times.
Either way I doubt you can be bothered to be a decent human being anyways.

yeah Bailey been busy here to with freezups, I had 3 on saturday and 1 on sunday. Do you have wells or city water? all of the freeze ups I went to the pipe from well to pressure tank was frozen about 10 feet before the tank. We made a steamer for that, which is a steel gas can with a piece of pipe 4 inch pipe welded to the bottom of it and a hole for a torch cut into it. a long 3/8 plastic hose is connected at the cap which we run into the frozen pipe. the water boils creates steam and forces it out the plastic hose. works amazing :rock :aok
-
Dolby, our temp with windchill was -35f which equates to -37.2C
-
That bloody cold xb!!! :O

I was just highlighting the flaw in your statement. Ergo proving it was filled with raging idiocy.

Right back at you, Sir Genius.

Was -47°F in Fairbanks a just about a week ago, today it warmed up to t-shirt weather (a balmy 20°F) and I'm hearing about how everyone down south is gonna freeze to death.
Don't worry, you'll all survive (hopefully) and that cold will come back here where it belongs soon enough.

The Polar Vortex Effect... For our Centigrade users.
Friday, it was -13C here at at 6AM, with 1 foot of snow on the ground and more falling. Wind speeds of 40 mph making the windchill -26C. Spent several hours with my Poulon Pro (Husqvarna) snow thrower clearing our driveway and that of a neighbor. Temp peaked at -9C.
Saturday: -12C overnight, it warmed up to balmy -4C.
Sunday: The fast tracking storm draws up warm moist air from the south. Temperature was 2C at 6 PM, and rose overnight along with the onset of heavy rain.
Monday: Woke up to a downpour and the temperature was up to 14C at 7 AM. Rained hard much of day, adding just over 1 inch of rain to the 1+ foot of snow. Almost all traces of snow gone by noon. Temperature is on the way down. 7C by 1 PM, 1C by 6 PM, and -2C now. Going down to -12C tonight with winds expected to increase to 45 mph by dawn. That will make a windchill of -27C when I leave for work tomorrow. All of the melted snow and recent rain will rapidly freeze, making for very icy roads and sidewalks. The high temp for tomorrow is expected to be -9C with a windchill of -20C.
I live on eastern end of Long Island...

Most of mine are in newer construction homes.....you know the ones built by the lowest bidder :D
Actually colder here in PA than originally predicted.....with the windchill -25degrees in my area. My kids schools are closed.

Lol, I feel for you guys. It was rather unpleasant all day yesterday, didn't break 70 and I had to wear a light sweatshirt most of the day. Snowbird golfers must have been po'd.
I actually really miss the weather in Colorado, I don't get to spend much time up in N or E AZ, so I haven't actually had a winter in about 10 years. I can't remember the last time I saw snow and I used to race for my university. Ahhh adulthood...
Anyhow, not trying to rub it in, it's quite possible we could have 100degree days in 6 weeks here, I've seen it before in late Feb. Ebb and flow.
Stay warm, be prepared.
:salute

9 degrees F this morning in Charlotte, NC.
Didn't I move south to get away from this stuff? :D
-
-10 this morning just north of Pittsburgh! My Malibu was so cold that the heater would not even work, so needless to say, I had to drive to the doctors and to work with no heat!!!
Leather that has been chilled to -10F is freaking Miserable!!!
With wind chill it's between -30 and -40F. We even put a ground delay on all of our training flights at work.
What tops it off is going to be the 42 degree change in temp between now and tomorrow. And by this weekend we will be in the 50's!
-
It was 5 F here this morning in HotLanta. Its now warmed up to a balmy 7.
-
I should clarify it was -10F which is -23C
-
Left Cleveland this morning and it was -13. Arrived in Grand Rapids, MI at 2:30 this afternoon to a blizzard at 7 degrees. Wind off the lake is 30+ or so. Lovin it!!
-
Yesterday -24 actual and with Wind Chill -48. This was at DTW.
Far warmer than MN, SD, ND, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and BC.
