Truth be told, true to it's title.

Theres one on FB about a teen texting with her friends in the car she crosses the centerline and tragedy insues. I would post a link but my phone wont copy the link its on youtube just do a search, very strong commercial against texting while driving.

I've seen a texting one where some poor bastard and his kid are at the back of their car getting out a spare tire when the texter drifts into the shoulder and looks up....camera cut. Shudder.

Speed is a usual spousal irritant, if there is a traffic commotion I slow down, my wife, who is a much sportier driver, tends to think speed and agility are more important. I am constantly saying "energy goes up with the square of velocity." I am ignored.

Quasi related is the idea of belly landing on turf vs concrete. Turf can stop the plane abruptly if the plane digs in. Abrupt stops are also known as traumatic injury. You slide on concrete. Same principal in flying to the ground and into the trees vs stalling. Generally speaking the objects that soak up forward momentum in a plane crash are more likely to have some give compared to the ground, so best to have the velocity vector pointed ahead than straight down in a stalled condition. In both cases it's not the speed as much as the rate of change of speed that is the problem.

Sorry for the smart alecky post.

I think this British safety belt ad is very powerful, imaginative and positive.

Pretty potent message.
You guys have a good one in Texas, posting the number of deaths on electronic displays along the highways;; last one I've seen in December was showing over 2000 deaths for 2013; sad but powerful , always makes me think and slow down ;

This is the same video from my original post, just from youtube as I don't trust MSN to keep it up for any length of time.

I've seen quite a few, but this one is the most potent one I've encountered personally.

That was filmed not far from me . My dad worked with the local authority at the time . He was there . One of the guys he worked alongside was an ex-para . He felt ill at it as it was so realistic to things he had seen in his time . It was based on a real event that happened about 12 or 13 years back .
