Title: VMF-323 First Medal of Honor issued:
Post by: Ripsnort on January 29, 2001, 08:02:00 AM: After witnessing several accounts of heroism, and having read many reports of herosim in this month of January, I feel it is my duty to award VMF-323's first Medal Of Honor, and 1st inductee of VMF-323 Hall of Fame.

Gentlemen, although this medal is only of virtual origin, its meaning is deeper than that. Here we have a man who continuously fights hard for his country, the Knights, and has on many occasions sacrificed himself and his time to help make this sim more enjoyable to others. His teamwork and determination goes unmatched by any other in the simulation we call Aces High.

Blitz, you certainly are an asset to the squad and the community, please accept this Medal of Honor as a virtual way of saying 'Thanks' from VMF-323, MAG-33, Knightland, and Aces High.

"For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity..." or something along those lines. It recognizes a singular act of outstanding heroism clearly distinguished from lesser forms of bravery. The Medal of Honor is not an award for being a good guy, or being the best. That's what "certificates of appreciation" are for.

Post by: Ripsnort on January 29, 2001, 02:42:00 PM: Just one of MANY stories...we Knits had a two-prong attack going, bringing up major numbers of enema at the targeted airfields...meanwhile, Blitz, being his stealthy self, took down all the acks and fuel at a large airfield (A33?), then quietly ditched. He re-upped in a goon, managed to evade 2 cons hunting for him, and capture A33 while the rest of us had the enemy country busy...

I've seen Blitz take out all the ack on an airbase in 2 passes (minus the VH ack)

I've seen him dive in to clear six's of others where he knew he would certainly die in doing so (and did)...

I believe he may have the record on perk points...though I will let him tell you if he chooses.

I can't think of a better man to have on your wing.

His own squad mates private channel me and tell me the extrodinary things he does..

He sounds like Arnold...
