Title: M8 deaths to M3 50 cal.
Post by: lyric1 on January 16, 2014, 04:05:39 AM: I have noticed of late the M8's seem to die very easily to the shortest of burst from M3's 50 Cal's.

I have other films that kill me at greater distances yet still with minimal amount of hits.

I had a B25H hit me square on with the cannon & the round bounced off the M8.
The M3's on the other hand seem to be lethal on M8's at present.

Ya, M3's use to die quite easily. It seems they have been toughened up.

After driving the M3 with the 75mm around in TT, I will say it still seems the same. Back before they updated them I remember it still taking 1 or 2 GOOD passes to kill one with 50s. The same still applies as FlyinFin strafed me yesterday. Against tanks, M3s have always taken an AP round or two. I've always heard that the shells would just "go right through" kind of thing. That's just my observation.

This is part of my problem Flyinfin raked an M8 I was driving in with a 110-G model on the Greebo map in TT a few days ago & nothing at all.
These are 30MM cannon rounds hitting me.
Yet a fraction of the number of rounds & less time being hit by an M3 & done just like the link I posted.

I didn't get a chance to watch your film, but I believe you! I've noticed some sketchy things since I've started GVing again, but I've blamed it on my lack of knowledge/still getting used to the new GV stuff.

Post by: Banshee7 on January 27, 2014, 01:49:15 AM: Another case against the toughness of the M3: tonight SHawk was unsuccessful in killing my M3 with the howitzer after 3 solid passes. Maybe the toughness needs to be looked at. Wish I had a film.
