Title: no sound

Just working bugs out of a newly built PC and I seem to have no sound, error comes up no peripherals found or headset not plugged in etc etc.. tried direct to the mobo and the front panel ...no go, no sound

You did install the motherboard drivers, didn't you? No exclamation marks in the Device Manager? I don't know your mileage, but I've "fixed" those things for a young guy who had just started his studies to be a computer tech...

Indeed, check device manger and see if there are any issues.

Start>right-click computer>manage>on the left, device manager
