Title: VOX not working
Post by: BravoT on January 21, 2014, 06:58:44 PM
Been away from the game for about a year.  VOX worked fine in the past, but now when I push T or F12 it doesn't transmit. All keys are mapped correctly, have tried resetv, have tried relogging, have tried restarting CPU, mic works fine on any other game. OS is Windows 8 if that matters.

If I tune channel 5 to my gameID and hit T I do get the squelch and can hear my own transmission. But not with F12. So no clue what's going on or how to fix it.

Any help would be appreciated.

There could be another software package trapping the F12 key.  If the 'T' works, then there is no reason the 'F12' would not work, unless the game is not getting the key.  Map it to another key and see if it works.

If you can hear yourself when you tune your gameid then your vox should be working, you wont hear your own range vox,f12. As Skuzzy said you could try remappping range{f12} to another key but before you do that I'd spawn a plane and try a vox check of range to see it others hear you.

  hope that helps.

Roger that I won't hear myself on range if tuned to my own ID, but should I still get a squelch and have my ID appear top right when I press F12? All I get now is a lowering of volume on the game sounds while the key is pressed.

You wont see your gameid either, only others do!  As I said just give range a test with a friendly in the area.

I'll be in the TA after 9pm est,so if you'd like I can see if I can help you in there later 2nite!!!

Can we assume you have tested your recording in windows "sound" and everything works fine in that?

Do you have any 3rd party audio software running? For instance I have a separate App that allows me to quickly change from head phones to speakers.
