Title: Orange Crushed
Post by: RotBaron on January 26, 2014, 03:35:06 AM
17 to 83 9x for 193 and 2

Ricky Sanders caught half of Doug Willliams' completions in the game and kick started the second quarter with the 80yd TD. The Redskins scored 5 TDs in the 2nd quarter in a total of just more than 5 minutes of possession, whilst Elway bumbled, stumbled, and was battered, knocked around and pounded to the ground.

YES that was 5 TD in one quarter.

Timmy Smith, still the SB record holder with 204 yds rushing on 22 attempts ran all over the Crush.

Williams was 18/29 for 340yards and 4 TD's with one INT.

With 73,300 in attendance on a beautiful San Diego evening on the 1st of Febuary 1988 the Orange Crush was thoroughly embarrassed.

It is truly amazing what great things can happen on a day when it's rather unexpected.

Seattle? Will it be your time to crush?

Good luck to fans of both, it looks to be a good one!

I remember every super bowl game like yesterday except the first. I didn't watch it.

It will be a good game. Old vs young, Experienced vs inexperienced, #1 offense vs #1 defense.

Most Seahawk Fans like I are just tickled to have beat the 49ers in the NFC Championship game. To beat the Broncos would be icing on the cake that was already baked (no weed pun intended)

Either way, it's will be a great Super Bowl!

Ive always loved Super Bowl Sunday. Heck I remember the first one.

It was small potata's compared to nowaday epics. But still even rampant commercialism cant ruin a good football game. Thats all I hope for, a good game.

I was listening to the talking heads on NFL network and they said all those guys that played in the first 20 super bowls would not even make a practice squad in today's NFL. That was a time when 250 lb offensive tackles/guards were the norm.

SuperBowl 22;  Skins and Broncs I was in 6th grade iirc and had a bet with a classmate. I think he was a fairweather fan and I had already watched Riggins plow his way to the previous Joe Gibbs guided SB victory. As I watched the opening play, Elways 60yard bomb to Natiel, I thought oh man, I'm gonna be in for a tough monday morning ride to school with my neighbor. I think $10 were at stake, big doings for a 6th grader in '88. He called me after that first touchdown to laugh and a few more calls during the first qtr as my Redskins were going nowhere. There would be no more calls after the Williams Sanders touchdown to start the 2nd. Monday morn he had little to say  :D

He who laughs last does indeed knock the ring.

Who will laugh last Sunday? My bet would be on Peyton, and with Sherman busy on Thomas, Welker and Decker are the one's to watch.

Lynch will need his skittles.
