It's now 36-0. I guarantee nobody saw this coming :rofl
Will Denver at least score :old:

Unreal. Like a train wreck, I've wanted to turn the game off several times, and just can't. I keep wondering if it can get any worse, and yep, it can :)
-
How many Broncos does it take to change a tire?
One, unless it's a blowout then the whole team shows up.
(I know, I know....old joke but...)
I somewhat though Seattle would win even though I want the Broncos. Defense operates off of aggression, offenses operate off of precision. Aggression has an upper hand over precision though I did not think it would look like this.

The only thing worst than the game was the Half-time show.
-
Well at 43 to 8 right now id say seattle has man handled bobblehead peyton and seattles offense is clicking

WTG Hawks, put Bighead(Manning) and Bucky Beaver (Elway) in their place. I live in CO and hate the donkeys. Hope to see many fans :cry the blues on Monday. Donk's has their :ahand to them :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl

It was "Nomaha" for the Broncos.
One friend on FB speculated that Tony Romo tied up Manning and stole his jersey.

Bronco's needed Tebow.

Bronco's needed Tebow.
Yep then at least they would have God on their side

As I said in the other thread, the actual Superbowl was played in Seattle two weeks ago where Seattle beat San Francisco, 23 to 17 in a hard fought game.
Tonight we had an exhibition game of what the best NFC West team does to the best AFC team. If Crabtree had caught the last pass from Kaepernick and brought the 49ers here instead we'd just be watching the 49ers dominate the Broncos, though I don't think they'd have been as dominating as the Seahawks have been.
-
An ol' fashioned a$z kicking. Turned it off at half time.
-
My little brother lives in Denver, huge Bronc's fan.
Talking back and forth on facebook the whole game. My closing comment:
Game Over
Seahawks Win
Broncos finally come onto the field to see what all the noise is about.

Pretty sure a lot of Seattle fan's including myself saw this coming.. also I know Ripsnort did as well.

Denvers coach said it best "we ran into a buzzsaw" .

I'm thinking that this game may have killed Manning's career. Not that he's not a good athlete or QB, its just that he had a lot riding on this game.
-

This game solidified him not being considered for the greatest ever, but it in no way proved he's not a good QB. To even suggest that is pretty stupid. He's a great QB that ran into a very prepared and talented defense.
-
Not a fan of either team, but it was clear from the game's first play that one team was clearly unprepared (Broncos) while their opponents were exquisitely prepared (Seahawks).
The Seahawks were clearly faster, stronger, and more hungry than the Broncos. How much their age had to do with that? All I know is tonight the Broncos looked old and SLOW. Seemed like everything the Broncos did, the Seahawks were right on top of it.....conversely, the Broncos looked like they were guessing what the Seahawks were gonna do next.
Only reason I watched past halftime was to see if Pete Carroll would do like he did in his USC days and run the score up as much as he could. I was surprised when he started pulling starters and they were only ahead 43-8.
Congrats to Seattle. That was the most methodical butt kicking I've seen in a Super Bowl since Dallas laid it on Buffalo in 1992. Much like tonight, it was a young hungry team destroying an older more experienced one.

I reminded a lot of people that DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS.
Don't ever doubt that again please.
With that said, Go Hawks!

They don't actually go to our games or watch every game on TV like we do. :) I DID NOT expect a team that played like jacksonville though...that was a real let down. I was expecting a good match up. Pretty disappointed that Denver brought that crap to the world stage.
.
But, We knew bettter. ;) Defense Wins Championships.

super trash bowl was absolute trash, i want my money back. atleast the bbq was good.

Oh, and can one more color commentator remind us how many Seahawks have Super Bowl experience? (0) Because now we have 53!

So is it time to talk about march madness yet?

I can't agree with that statement completely. Marino lost the only Super Bowl he was in and is still considered one of the greatest all-time.
Both Manning and Marino suffered from being on marginally talented teams which, for the most part, relied on their very talented QB making plays to win. Counter that to Tom Brady, who I'll grant is talented but has always had a very strong organization, coaching staff and system to support him. Without Brady, the Pats are STILL a good team. Without Manning or Marino, their teams would fall apart.
Don't believe me? Remember when Manning was out for the season? If memory serves the Colts whent 2-14 after having gone 10-6 the previous year. Consider this picture as you think on that. I think it says it all.

Sorry but that is completely untrue. A strong defensive team can almost always defeat a strong offensive team even when they possess a marginal offense.
All the Redskins winners in '80s and '90s? Bears in '85? All the 49er and Patriots teams that won Super Bowls? The Ravens in '00 and arguably last year as well? The Steelers Super Bowl teams? Every one of those teams had top tier defenses. True most of them had talented offenses as well but the Ravens in particular are an example of where a strong defense more than makes up for a marginal offense. Anyone remember the name of their starting QB in 2000? That's right, it was future (not) Hall-of-Fame inductee Trent Dillfer. That team had a ball-control, non-flashy offense that scored just enough to win and didn't turn over the ball...it was their defense that dictated the game and imposed their will on the other team.

The Seattle defense scored twice dictated field position and produced four turnovers.. Defense wins championships.

I can't agree with that statement completely. Marino lost the only Super Bowl he was in and is still considered one of the greatest all-time.
Marino lost his super bowl to Joe Montana and a 49ers team that went 15-1 in the regular season. 1985 49ers > 2014 Seahawks. This loss hurts Manning, IMO, because it was pretty clear his team was caught unprepared. Preparedness and leadership is supposed to be something he's great at.

The Colts decided to build their entire offense around Manning from the day they drafted him. He pretty quickly became the offensive coordinator as well. It's no shock that losing your QB and your OC for an entire year will throw your offense into a tailspin.
Manning will go down as one of the best of this era, no doubt. I'd put him a rung above Marino on the all time list, but he needed this game to be in the discussion for the greatest QB of all time.
P.S. - Manning even falls short for broadest shoulders in the history of the NFL. John Elway took 3 Denver teams to the Super Bowl that would have likely had losing records without him under center. :old:

Elway was 2-3 in Super Bowls. Manning is 1-2. Pretty close. I have never been a Elway fan as he's an arrogant a__ IMO but I'd still have the say he's one of the greats and I'd still stack Manning over him. I agree Manning is not the greatest ever as I think that has to go to someone like Montana.
I also do not feel Tom Brady is greater than Manning, or any of the other QBs discussed thus far, Except for Trent Dillfer. :)

The best thing about the Super Bowl was Bruno.

hehehhe I like how Joe just tossed the coin without anyone picking heads or tails. The ref was pretty quick with the catch. :D :aok

Peyton's 2013/2014 season........
Threw 55 touchdown passes breaking the current record of 51 set by tom brady.
Threw for a league record of 5477 yards.
Passed for 7 touchdowns in a game.
293 passing first downs to break the previous record.
Passed for 4 touchdowns in a game 9 times breaking the record.
I didn't include the rest of the records Manning drove his team to break.
If he wants to play, surely someone will employ him.

Apparently our Seahawks ruined the Super Bowl according to Sports Illustrated :rofl

Is Sports Illustrated printed in Denver then?
I'm kinda surprised that Denver's airports aren't currently full of people from Seattle flying in to point and laugh at people.

All returning 1 stop flights via Alaska or United airlines from NYC pass through Denver. :devil

These would be why I still consider him to be, if not the best QB all-time, at least in the top three and far superior to Brady.
I will admit to being biased against Tammy Brady. :lol

In fairness, it was boring. I am a 49ers fan, and I consider their drubbing of Denver 55 to 10 to be the worst Superbowl of all time.
I am glad the Seahawks won though. I think it is pretty clear that San Francisco was the 2nd best team in football this year, Seattle was the best. NFC West is best in 2013.

Agreed. from worst to first in 3 years, the NFC West was. Best record, fewest points allowed...our division hardens all players and teams! I see another from our division in the big dance next year too. It's a relatively 'young' division. :D

Well it was neither teams fault, but it was very boring. I turned it off after the halftime show and the show was more entertaining than the game as a whole. You can't ask a team to stop their whooping to keep it close...it is what it is. Good for Seattle fans but that's about it.
Clearly the game of the weekend was the Duke v Cuse game. Go Cuse!
