A crowd of onlookers in Seattle jam an overhead walk to witness the mass evacuation of Japanese from Bainbridge Island, Washington, on March 30, 1942. Somewhat bewildered, but not protesting, some 225 Japanese men, women and children were taken by ferry, bus and train to California internment camps. The evacuation was carried out by the U.S. Army. Evacuation might not be the right choice of words.

Union Pacific took back for trade, Big Boy steam engine #4014 from the Pomona Fair Grounds for restoration. Currently Big Boy is at the Union Pacific West Colton rail yard at Bloomington, California for light maintenance before it heads out to Cheyenne, Wyoming for full restoration.
This weekend only Saturday, February 8 and Sunday, February 9, you can visit Boy Boy for the last time before it leaves the state of California until 2022 (Pomona Fair 100th anniversary)

Union Pacifc Big Boy will not be burning any coal. From what I understand, the tender will be carrying some type of oil called Oil type #5 to replace coal.

This, she's an oilburner now. I read about the pending transfer to Wyoming a few weeks ago and I'm very hyped. Can't wait to see her under steam again.

I always wished I had a first class train set.
I had a buddy with a really nice diorama. Some great trains in a terrific set up. It was mesmerizing watching those trains roll.

I got given a 1950's train set by a guy at work, flippen thing came with everything in original boxes with original prices written on them :)
I will get it out of the attic and take some pics

I found a 1962 Lionel set in an attic. Was only a 2-6-0 but came with some nice military cars. We set it by the Christmas tree on the holidays. :D

20 tons/hr.. that couldn't have been cheap to operate.... How much water did it consume too?

that seems way too much coal for 1 hour. since the "fuel" car only carried 25 tons.
