Yeah, they started out with R&B, but switched to rock after seeing a concert with The Who.

I'd call this early punk too, the musical style of punk anyway but not the social movement.

Don't forget MC5 or The Stooges.

That was a great doc. If you guys get a chance, check out The Stranglers. Great proto punk band. Kind of Doors-ish.

The Stranglers were (still are) one of my favorite bands. Saw them way back in the '80s in my well spent, hedonistic youth.

I knew I liked you. :aok
The Ruts were great too. Gotta say though, the Cramps have always been a big favorite of mine.

The Cramps were awesome, another one of my favorite all time bands. They would always put on a good show too, even when Lux Interior was too drunk to sing. I have an old video of a concert they did back in 1978 at the Napa Valley Mental Institution, it's just fitting seeing The Cramps play to a bunch of whacked out crazy people.

What do you make of all this silly black flag ruckus?
-
It's silly but to me, Greg Ginn will always be the singer for Black Flag.

I'm just glad I never got the bars tattooed on me anywhere.
Jealous Again is one of my favorite records to this day. Just sad that Greg is such an A-Hole and can't get along with anyone.
