I read today that Bob "Kirk" Kirkpatrick passed away ealier this month.
Kirk was one of the gallant young Americans who travelled north to join the RCAF, eventually making his way onto the Mosquitos of 21 Squadron. Amongst numerous other exploits, he flew the camera plane on the Shellhaus raid.
Not long ago he attended the Hamilton Air Show, where he joined other Mossie vets having a look at Jerry Yagen's restored aircraft. There's a wonderful tribute to the man here:

He was always friendly and forthcoming with fanbois like myself on the mossie.org board - he will be missed.
Fair winds and blue skies, Bob.
