This is the Aeroworks 50cc Mustang 86 inch wingspan. We put a DA 85cc engine in her and changed her war colors. Fastest scale mustang I ever flew.

Real nice deep pistony pitch to the engine too. Audio was enjoyable as the video. :aok

Condor, I wish I lived closer to you.
After a few years of flying foamies, trainers, and a couple of Hangar9 electrics, I bought the Hangar 9 Spit 9 30cc arf that went on sale this week. I'm really excited to get it in the air this spring, but don't have a lot of guys with experience around here, so I'm doing it myself, which is how I learned to fly the other things as well - simulator, some crashes, and eventually able to fly circuits and basic aerobatics consistently and such. I've been flying mostly helo's this year, 450 and 500 sized Align mainly, but some micro stuff too.
I have an electric motor I could fit in the Spit 9 kit, but I'm 99 percent sure I'm going to go with the Saito 4 stroke 30cc gas motor. I hope it sounds as good as your P51, that's as great as the F4U sound, something I didn't expect from a non radial motor, to have that deep of a roar. Great video. That first low pass must have sounded ever better live, what a sound!

WTG Team Dymond! :aok

A good buddy of mine owns Dymond USA. He has the same spitfire you do. You should give him a call. He did his in electric.
Bob Grunden. You can get his number on their website. Tell him Fred told you to call. He can tell you all about that plane.
I also fly helis. If you ever go to a 600 size flybarless you will never look back.

Right on I'll do that.
I've been flying flybarless since I started really. I learned on flybarless micro's - several Blade Nano's, a 130x that I've rebuilt enough times that it qualifies as several, and a lot of sim time, and my first full size 450 was a FBL Blade 450, then a Blade 500 FBL, before getting a used Trex 500 DFC pro fbl from a local guy that flies for the Snowbirds air demonstration team, who runs our club and field right now. I've got a fair bit of experience setting up and running the Beastx and the 3gx systems. Thankfully there are tons of youtube help videos, not to mention that the systems themselves are very simplified IMO and designed for dumdums in the hobby like me.
I thought a lot about "staying with what you know" and doing that Spit in electric, but the whole reason I bought it was for one of those great sounding motors from Saito. My goal is in a year or two to get an F4 or P47 model with the same motor you had in your F4U model. Even this Spit 9 will be easily over 2$k of an investment for me I'm sure, but I've got the radio gear already at least. I can't wait to start building it, much less flying it. Who knows, maybe I'll end up doing it with an electric motor after talking with him, I've got enough field electric power systems in the back box of my Duramax, as our field has no power with which to recharge. I like to have a large number of batteries, but for a full 4 hour afternoon of flying, I always end up recharging stuff in the field, always, so I bring my little genset and my 1000A/700W power box.
We'll see. I sure do love that sound though of the gas powered Saitos.
