Much better PSU then you previously had selected.
-
good to know there are still people selecting AMD cpu's out there
-
It looked to me like performance vs money the AMD was the only way to go.
What are your feelings on this list, will it build a decent rig? I am extremely new the computer world.
-
It's a solid budget build that should be good for at least a few years.

:lol
Thats one way to put it.
Nimrod,
I do agree with Dragon, you have a solid budget build that should work fine for a few years.
-
I do like the build :aok

Components arrived and I succeeded in putting together my first computer, and it works twice as good as my 5-6 year old Gateway Quadcore. Very happy with it and now I will be able to enjoy the game while at my remote work site for two weeks of every month, no more putting my "flight time" on hold every two weeks! Maybe I will actually be able to improve now.
-
looks like a decent mid-range puter, i give it a :aok
One note: for CPUs the DDR-1600 RAMs are enough, they arent a bottleneck. APUs (CPU + graphical unit in the same chip) are really suffering from the slow RAM though, maybe the DDR4 era helps them out a bit.

Good bang for the buck. AMD CPUs and the new Radeons make a lot of sense nowdays.

how is that a mid range system :headscratch:
seems like its a much better then mid range...
that system should last and run any game for at least 5 years....(and well beyond that)
hell I am still on a duel core 2.9 ghz CPU
a 1gig 4830
4 gigs of ram
and can play any game out there....
I have
Skyrim
Metro
I am Alive
remember me
Farcry 3
AC 3
plus many more.....
some I have to turn down the graphics a little bit to get a smooth FPS....
Aces High actually runs the worst of all these games and I have to turn off everything except detailed terrain and detailed water....
cant wait for the update I bet my old system will see an improvement.... :rock
Nim.....the system you got is very nice :aok

Thanks all, the best part was coming out of my cave to become familiar with computers and actually doing something with one for my self. Think I caught something because now Im thinking on upgrading my other one just for fun, LOL.

Since its every component is about 1/2 to 2/3 as fast as the fastest solution available on the market, i would consider this a mid-range system. Its about 30% faster than my machine, what was an upper-mid one in 2010.
You had the luck that you have built yours in the golden era, when the prices were relatively low and the developement slowed down - thats why your 6 years old machine is still usable today.

There's also the issue of subjectivity, I'm sure that many people wouldn't consider those games actually playable with that hardware.

I know you dont care, but I have had friends over that think ah graphics are pretty cool. while at the same time I hear about people with crappy computers complaining about crappy graphics.
