No, not right.

Salutes and system messages always come through.

If you check in 200 you get the messages, if not not.

I believe Salutes come come Channel 1, not 200.  So if you either check the filter for "1 and 200" or you specifically filter channel 1 (in the single channel filter) you will not see Salutes.

Ahh got ya ,then i'll have to devote a channel to just one for now. :aok

Correct.

My personal setup has several tabs.  The first ("Nada") has everything filtered, the second allows Squad Channel and Squad Vox Channel text messages, the third includes the second tab setup plus country and range, the next has System and Channel 1, and the final one has 200 allowed for the (increasingly) rare occasions I actually tune in.

Between these measures and liberal use of the squelch function (which I currently perform manually but am investigating programing a script / macro using my gaming keyboard) I find my enjoyment of the game has ramped up considerably.  :aok

Might it be if you were*not* tuned to 200 you would still see salutes sent by the .s command but not a straight up <S> Sunka typed on 200? Guessing that'd be why.

Heh....this is true as well.

Some (many?  most?) don't use the .s for whatever reason...not sure why.  If the opposing player's performance was good enough for me to type <S> on whatever channel it's worth giving a full salute through .s...but I recognize that's a personal opinion.

Make sure that you don't have system messages filtered in your chat tab.  If you do have it filtered, you won't see any system messages such as who you shot down, salutes, etc.

Yea right on.
I was just using the tabs box setup for all my tabs and had 1 - 200 off, and not getting salutes, not thinking i need to just use channel 1 on one of my vox box tabs.

Unless you don't want to see that information.  I typically do not.

I find it lessen the frustration when you end up with an assist after you blow a wing off a plane or similar circumstance.  :furious

I usually check when I land how many I bagged (if any) and who they were.

My response wasn't addressing those that don't want to see the information but rather the OP in trying to help him figure out why he may not be seeing the system messages.

Is it possible to mute the system? I've never used the squelch feature so I wouldn't know.  Just a thought that came to me.
Hope the problem gets fixed.
