Title: Salvo toggle on/off
Post by: colmbo on March 05, 2014, 09:39:05 AM
How about a key command to toggle salvo on and off.  You could set the salvo number (.salvo #) but it wouldn't take effect until salvo is ON.

I would like this for jabo attacks.  I rarely use salvo to release bombs from a fighter, but would like rockets fired in pairs.  I could set salvo to "2" but have salvo off to drop the bombs then a key command to make salvo active for the rocket passes.  Presently it's a bit tedious to type .salvo 2 as you're doing a wingover to return to the target.

As a plus it would be a bit more realistic.  From what I've found for US aircraft the rockets were completely separate from the bombs as far as armament panel, release setup.

how about different commands for setting salvo for rockets and bombs, like .salvo rokcets 3 , .salvo bombs 1
much more easier to develop.

+1.

I use gaming keyboard macros to do this now and find it very useful.  Others who do not have a programable keyboard might as well if it were built in to the game.

Can't take credit for it.  Semp posted a few months back that he was doing something similar using his keyboard and it got me thinking.   ;)

In the mean time a Thrustmaster MFD button panel is easy to set up for each salvo you want.  I have button for 1, 2, 4, 6, and 8 salvo settings.  Buy a two pack and split it with someone.  I also have a button to auto calibrate on bomber missions.  I have a button for 3 second calibration and one for 10 seconds.  The Target software is very powerful.

Now another way is to use A voice command system like

http://www.dwvac.com/ (http://www.dwvac.com/)

It works really well.  I press a button that turns VAC on then say "Salvo 4"  and that is it.  Pretty slick.  A squad mate got me going with this and he did the programing.  Great for things like "Return Salute".  One of the best is like fighter hanger downtime.  I say "downtime", "press 2, press 2, press 4" for field 224 then say "fighter"

most of the keys on a standard keyboard are set to something already.  if you want to add more my suggestion is get a gaming keyboard or use the different modes already included in the game.
