Title: Air Raid Siren
Post by: Chalenge on March 08, 2014, 07:35:11 AM
I wish that the air raid siren (for one) could be changed according to the type of aircraft or vehicle you have selected in the hangar. I particularly like the idea of changing the air raid sound for a carrier versus an airfield, or vehicle field.

Check six would be another good one to change this way, and possibly the field gun sounds.

You can have different sounds for the check6, I know my sound pak does.

Place the sound file for the check6 or siren you want in the sound folder for the given aircraft, "Spit14" for example.

most people have the air raid siren turned off as it is annoying as hell to be on forever under some situations.  as for the check six some of the sound packs have them in german for german eairplanes, and english for allied airplanes.   me, I have wldgirl's custom made check six sound "check your six semp" since forever.

you can make a different check six sound for every single airplane.  that i'll live to your imagination.

I wish the sir raid siren would only sound when there is an air raid and the "Field under Attack" would only sound when there is a ground attack.

While you are right about the check6 sound, the problem is you either have to include a copy of the same sound with every aircraft or vehicle, or you get the same sound. It's also possible to make an air raid sound that isn't irritating, but we also have the ability to turn it down if we need to. Right now the air raid is only read from the sound folder, and will not be picked up if you change it for a particular airplane, or vehicle. It would add a lot of depth to the game if you choose a German plane and everything like the air raid siren, check 6, and gun sounds (defensive) become typical of "your" air raid, check 6, and guns.

when people talk on vox while in the tower and it's under attack, you can not hear it on their end .  you can hear back ground noise but hardly the siren, engines and explosions but not the siren.

edit: also when you are in a gv at the base, they air raid siren going on continuously is annoying as hell.

You do know that you can use a vox system so that no sounds get transmitted except for voice?

I know what you mean, because the default sound is irritating, but usually only if it is set to 100% levels. I have my airraid sound set to 60%, which allows me to converse on vox and hear tanks approaching well enough to identify the type.

I totally understand that.  I have my sounds set to zero when somebody talks on vox. that is so I can hear them clearly.  but most dont have it set to zero. and I can hear back ground noises such as explosions, shooting... etc.  the only thing I rarely hear is the air raid siren.  I have mine set to zero along with "warning"  since I can it really serves no purpose other than to annoy imho.

Lucky nobody looked over my shoulder, or I'd....

Do nothing. This is the internet. Let that be a reminder to all of those who do nothing but start purse fights.

what about the airfield air raid siren on the fleet? shouldn't that sound  be like the honking horn i use to hear in all the old war movies?perhaps a "all men man your battle stations"call! that would be very cool
