Is it me or are the shadows not matching the what we see in the image? It's hard for me to tell.

Based on the photos I'd say their day ended up tremendously better than it looked like it was going to end up at its low point given that both survived with minor injuries.

I had a friend out at the airport when it happened. The 170 pilot is a WW2 fighter pilot.
