What configuration is used for the climb and speed tests? How much fuel? Loadout options ie: 109G14 gun pods?
Thanks

Whoa there pardner'. Slow down or you're going to soil your drawers!
Ultimately, with few exceptions, use the default climb rate. Also, in the hanger you can see how much flight time at full throttle a plane has when selecting the different fuel amounts. Depending on your mission take the amount of fuel you will need. However, experience has shown that in rare cases "too much" fuel hinders your performance to the point of giving you a legit handicap. So, don't try and game the game too much.
As far as the 109 and gun pods: it increases firepower in a major sense. The only real downside is noticeable effect is in the roll rate, otherwise the loss in climb rate and top speed are hardly worth mentioning. FWIW, I only use them when hunting bombers. For air to air superiority stuff (fighter vs fighter), I leave in them in the hanger.
Good luck.

What I'm asking is the configuration used to get the numbers posted in the performance charts. For instance what fuel and bomb load was used to get the numbers for the bombers. Were all of the airplanes flown with the same percentage of fuel?
I'm asking because I quite often see poorer performance than the charts depict. I'm guessing the tests were flown with a reduced fuel load.

I thought I saw somewhere on the forums 50% clean configuration on the fighters, no idea on the bomb loads though.
Wiley.

Look closely at the charts, they all post a test weight! I dont think they include and externals and use a clean config, but at a specific weight.
The gondies cost about 18mph speed loss, not insignificant,DT on 109's cost 14 mph and you still loose 4 mph after the DT is dropped because of the rack.

Ah. I understand your question now. As Morfiend mentioned, each chart shows a weight for the aircraft in question. Also, contrary to what you've may have seen in many cases the speeds and climb rates are better than shown on the charts. The Mossi FB Mk IV is the perfect example. Also, I do believe that the aircraft were without external ords, drop tanks, and gun pods when tested. Use those charts for reference only, few things are exact under any circumstance.

Is that the in-game chart? I mostly use the comparison on the website, it doesn't post a weight. Next time I'm in game I'll check…thanks.

Well kooky there!
It appears the fighters are done with 100% fuel, bombers at some intermediate weight that I was not able to exactly match with fuel/bomb load juggling ( but usually within a couple hundred pounds).

If you look at fighters like the F4U series, you'll see that within the set, they are all tested with the same weight of fuel even though they have different total capacities, and the fuel weight may not match any percentage loadout available.

Ya my bad Columbo,I had assumed those were the charts you were talking about and didnt consider that you may have been looking at charts on some website.
Sorry for the confussion.

The AH fighter comparisons use the same graphs as shown in the hanger. The weight is only shown in the hanger graphs.
