Title: 138 Wing Mosquito Mk VI
Post by: Greebo on March 15, 2014, 03:31:26 PM
Thanks to Lyric1 for finding me the info for this aircraft.

This silver doped Mosquito Mk VI was the mount of Group Captain Leslie Bower, C.O. of 138 Wing of the RAF's 2nd Tactical Air Force. While painting Mosquitoes silver was common in the SEAC theater as a way to avoid heat damage to the airframe it was not normal practice in the European theater during WW2. This aircraft was used on operations at least twice in early 1945. It carried the "SM" code of 305 Polish Squadron, whose ground crews serviced it.
