Title: Modeling in 3ds Max
Post by: RipRap on March 18, 2014, 08:42:57 PM
I recently purchased a Civil suite from Autodesk that included 3ds Max. I have been playimg around with it for the past week or so, but still have a few problems with basic commands. I really want to get into fighter modeling, but can't find tutorials & blueprint sites to get me pointed in the direction I need. Does anyoneknow of or have link that can help?

I only know know AC3D and a little Blender, but if you google 3ds Max tutorials on youtube it will retrun a bunch of em. As far as blueprints, I'm not sure what you are looking, for but for 3 views of aircrat here is a good one. http://richard.ferriere.free.fr/3vues/

you know if you add "empties" you can make them images and use the cross sections that should be with that image?

Have not done any aircraft in 3dmax, but I have in Gmax. I never finished my projects as I never figured out hierarchy. I have used 3dmax for buildings though and the functions between the two are very similar.

This is my C-123k project that I was making to release as pay ware that would be used as a fundraiser for our real C-123. This is in Fsx,

This is the fuselage for C-123 v2 as I was not certain about the first...

I spent a few hours today watching tutorials on youtube and Autodesk, went on the 3 view sites that were suggested (thanks for those by the way). It is going be a very long learning process. Thanks again for the links.
