I probably need to find a faq so I can stop bugging everybody.
Also, is there a limit to how many skins are accepted for each plane type or is that just how it used to be?

Orphaned skins are ones which the maker is no longer in the game, so they can be picked up for remake or updating.
-
each plane can have 32 skins :aok

So my Pony has a chance. Yay!

Oh. I see. Thanks.

There are currently three orphaned P-51Ds. So when the last 6 slots have been taken it seems likely those three would get dropped to make space for new skins.

Why not simply increase the allowed number of skins? I think we all have space for them these days.

My skins folder is currently at 640mb (I have every skin available). Personally I could spare three or four times that space.

I hear ya....
I think it comes down to what can be seen on screen....how many players using skins and being onscreen..loading all the different skins....

I think it has to do with the time involved. Your plane comes into view close enough for a skin and now my computer has to search for skin 18 of the 190s. It takes x amount of time to find it and add it to the plane shape. Now double the number of skins we have for the 190. How much longer 8 it going to take a middle of the road computer to find the right skin and add it?
More of a speed thing than a space thing.
