Asus VE278Q 27-Inch Full-HD LED is 249.00 on amazon w/free delivery. I have the 276 model and like it a lot. 27" makes a big difference for me. YMMV.

I've had several Samsung monitors that have been really nice and at a great price.  My current one is a Samsung S24B350HL, but I bought it a while back, so they might have newer models now.

I like your original choice better then the recommendations you have been given. For the price you have more connection options and 3D vision too.

For the price of the PB278Q you could nearly get three 24" monitors (Asus Monitor VE248Q) and if you have anything Nvidia 600 or above you can drive all three at the same time.

+1, I've always liked Samsungs monitors. I've also had real good luck with Viewsonic (They around still?) and LG monitors as well.

I prefer playing on one monitor. Dont get me wrong, I do have two 27's hooked up. But im so used to playing on one large on, the 48Q, that I never changed. I prefer the single and higher resolution.

I went from a 23" ASUS to three Acer 21.5's given to me.   I am glad I went to them.

I became tired of TN-screens and bought myself a 27" Benq MVA screen.

Much better colors, and better luminance, much better looking at screen from off angle, but only 60hz, and maximum full hd resolution.

I use a Dell U3014 - 30 inch and a second 24 inch for panels, instruments and other programs while playing FSX, DCS, etc..Love the higher resolution. Refresh rate is not an issue.
