Title: GHI Thanks.
Post by: ozrocker on March 20, 2014, 08:37:29 PM
For turning me on to Waze. Awesome GPS app.
It shows a lot of info, including how many "Wazers" are nearby.
It's so much more reliable than Google Maps.
I recommend it to anyone who uses GPS phone apps. :aok

Np, welcome !
...stop texting just watch the road : :lol
This app saved me time and $$ on diesel over past 4-5 months with this endless winter, crashes and icy roads closed almost every day;  helps to dodge the mess;  communicate instant with the drivers ahead almost like in AH, send a PM, ask what's going on, read the reports, watch or post photos; Google map is good, they have satellite and street photos but taken month or years ago, but Waze is great for instant road conditions, like a chat on the road ;if you enable" traffic" on Google map you'll see they post traffic incidents via Waze also;

 ..from Wiki
"Waze won the Best Overall Mobile App award at the 2013 Mobile World Congress, beating Dropbox, Flipboard and others.[1] On June 11, 2013 Google completed the acquisition of Waze for a reported US$1.3 billion.[2][3] As part of the deal signed, each of Waze’s 100 employees will receive an average of about $1.2 million, which represents the largest payout to employees in the history of Israeli high tech.[4]"

 The gov.  is pushing for this kind of vehicle to vehicle and driver to driver communication systems, could be mandatory in next years;
