Title: Congrats
Post by: ImADot on March 22, 2014, 12:18:10 PM
For a successful barrel roll of your Betties on the way home and then getting your name in lights for shooting down all three of Bear76's Betties, then bailing out.

22:01:03 Departed from Field #12 in a G4M1 Model 11
22:47:53 Shot down a G4M1 Model 11 flown by Bear76.
22:56:50 Shot down a G4M1 Model 11 flown by Bear76.
22:56:54 Shot down a G4M1 Model 11 flown by Bear76.
22:57:04 Bravely Bailed from damaged plane.

Not sure what goes through peoples' heads sometimes, but there can't be a good reason for this kind of behavior. Is this something we can continue to look forward to in future events?

I will admit that this looks bad from the limited info recorded by the logs and I wasn't there so the logs are all I have to go on; but wouldn't this be better handled via emails and PM instead of here on the BBS? Isn't this the kind of thing that skuzzy would have locked in the normal forum boards?

My squad was there; we were their escorts. There were no enemies around, and in fact there were very few defenders at the CV we attacked. My post was just stating some facts and my observation of behaviors with which I am having some growing concerns.

I'm not saying what he did was right; I wasn't there. However, you are calling out a specific individual by name; fact or not this the the kind of thing better left off the bbs and handled privately. Imho you as a CM should especially be above posting this kind of thing on the public forum.

Ok, my bad. I edited the title and removed his name. I'm still not pleased with recent behavior of some players in FSO.

you don't have to worry about what I do sweetheart.

I didn't know killshooter wasn't enabled, I shot my own squaddies bombers with my bombers in an attempt to be fast tracked to the tower. Instead his single plane caught fire and blew up.

Awhile later when he bailed from his remaining two planes, it credited me the kill since I must have pinged them.

based on the number of points that bombers are worth, my priority is to get all bombers, or as many as possible, home and landed and out of harms way. you would think everyone would make this a priority, as part of the success or failure of a frame depends on it. playing around can be done in the MA or practice arena's.

I think the points been made. hopefully this type of behavior will be kept to a minimum.

CM's can do whatever they want. We're supposed to shut up.

CM's are human; I had a moment of weakness. I apologize for pointing out bad behavior by using specific names. Let's not take this thread someplace it shouldn't go.

You guys also probably assume I even knew FSO had a point system. I had no idea about that.

I apologize. My frustration over something else got the better of me. :salute

This is better Co-ordinated through the CO('s) of said squad(s) by PM.  After all they are the ones in charge of letting those know under their command of how FSO works, and ultimately in charge of who they allow to fly with them in FSO.  I do understand how ImADot's frustration got the better of him though, Thanks for doing the right thing and appoligizing for posting in the open.  I'll drop it at that.

so to recap:

in the FSO

shooting buddies--BAD (killshooter is off)
bailing without Being shot up--BAD

Bombers--worth points--landing them---GOOD
Fighters--worth points--landing them---GOOD

Team (axis or allies) with most points wins!

Why not just fly them back to the airfield and land?

I didn't feel like flying anymore.

There is no rule against bailing out and as I have said, I was unaware of killshooter being off and the point system.

You might as well list them all now that you've brought it up.

Well sometimes we get abit crazy.. You don't have to like it.. We've been known to turn on each other during FSO's.. I remember more than once our entire squad fragging one another until we were all dead.. cept one.. cause hes awesome...

We sunk the carrier which if you figure the odds of that happening with muppets in bombers... well, lets just say that it's more likely we find life on Titan in the next 15.4yrs or so..

Pretty sure we still have a positive ratio in ice time.. 8)

I wasn't there but I'm sure I am not the only one that raised an eyebrow, Because if this is the case then, why is there 9-10 minutes between the 1st kill and the second?

The others were done mainly by CV ack which resulted in dead engines and crashing. Blu was muted shortly after entering arena for something so we couldn't really communicate. He didn't know the rules.
