Why are Volvos so ugly? :headscratch:

Volvos that age are not safe by modern standards though. My uncle bought a Volvo almost like that with only 50 000km on it. Vehicle was almost like new but the age shows. Door frames are paper thin, no air bags, the door resonates like banging on sheet metal when you close the door.

I guess I was being a bit facetious but will say my wife's 2007 XC-70 has been a great family car. Spacious, comfortable seats, plenty of amenities - we have driven all over Europe in this car and I can't say anything bad about it. Snow, ice, warm weather, It does its purpose.

It's a fact that Volvos seem much better cars while you're in them.

Haha - I take it you are not a Volvo fan.
Her Volvo has 85K miles and still chugging along. Only had to do periodic maintenance; nothing has broke and that is saying a lot for HER primary driver. Those backup sensors have saved many a pole in a parking lot.

Reggie Hammond will be by with a police officer to pick it up.
If anyone named Luther shows up, ignore him.

No I mean that many times when I sit in a Volvo - a taxi for example - the car seems very comfortable. On the outside it doesn't 'do' anything for me but the seats, noise level etc. are excellent in many models. I especially love the premium soft leather seats of Volvo.
Or it might be that I'm usually mindlessly drunk when I'm in a taxi.

Roger that - ich Verstehe!

"Put me down for a bob." he said. Shocked me so I forgot about the car.

I like Volvo heavy trucks ,great on mpg, quiet inside, good suspension ,large sleeper ,very comfortable; my last truck was a Volvo 770 ; now I own a Volvo 780, already 1,259,000 miles on original motor, transmission still pulling great.

Actually this is not true anymore, they may be safe but are no better than any other car available today. This wasnt always the case though, when Volvo actually owned the company and built their own unique cars they were much safer than the average NA built car.
Just ask Ralph Nadder! :devil
:salute

They crash tested a 8 year old Volvo recently and it still filled modern safety standards. Very good option for a young family who wants safety with a budget.

Ralph Nadder made himself into what he is today killing the Corvair.............which was NO were near as unsafe/deadly as VW bug. He rightly reasoned bug had popular support, wereas Corvair was relatively new and no widespread support. A leech is a leech is a leech.
And yes, I've owned both, 64 bug parked outside my window now. JGroth
