If I'm on an attack sortie and I'm shooting buildings, ack, etc., how do hits on ground targets scored accuracy? Are they lumped into the main accuracy stat (for Attack) as hits/kills on aircraft? Or are they scored separately?
Hope that makes sense - thanks!

Straffing buildings will bring up your hit% when in attack mode
It will lower it, when in fighter mode
Hope this helps answer your ?

It does, actually. Another question -
I was in a P51D the other day and managed to suppress a base. The .50's seemed to have little effect on many of the ground targets - do MG hits on objects (like tanks, buildings, etc.) negatively affect accuracy if they don't destroy the target?
-
Without getting to technical , destroying objects verses getting kills are independently scored as are ground vehicles verses planes, etc...
Lusche, is one who is really on top of how the whole scoring mechanics work
Hope this helps

They shouldn't affect accuracy much at all if you're not missing the target too much... Again, you need to make sure you have checked "Attack Mode" in the hangar, before launching that sortie

What is the difference between Damage Hit Percentage and Kills Hit Percentage?

% of projectiles hitting the barns and % of projectiles hitting other birds, mate.

To clear things up:
Fighter Mode:
Kills Hit Percentage = hits on planes (and most probably ground vehicles as well, as I repeatedly saw my hit % going up after strafing LVts in a Hurri I. Still has to be confirmed)
Attack Mode:
Kills hit percentage: Gun hits on everything: Planes, vehicles, buildings
Damage Hit percentage: Hits on objects (buildings, gun emplacements and so on) with ordnance (bombs, rockets, torpedoes)
do MG hits on objects (like tanks, buildings, etc.) negatively affect accuracy if they don't destroy the target?
No.

Thank You, Lusche

No.
Now you have me confused.
Does this one mean a player on late nights can run himself over to an undefended field ad nauseam with a poni. De-ack the town, then shoot up buildings. RTB repeatedly, repeat against town buildings until he guns them all down, and his hit% will not be differentiated from someone who has the same hit% from only shooting other planes in "Fighter Mode"?

Two different stats in two different categories.

And there I thought I had stated it quite clearly.
Guess I was wrong. Now I don't even understand what bustr is trying to say... :headscratch:

Do the bolded equal the same thing when the numbers are crunched for the individual player's outcome? If so, then back to a late night energizer bunny in Attack Mode strafing down a town with a poni over subsequent RTB and return trips to straf down buildings to pad KHP.

I think Arlo picked up on it. There's a difference between KHP in Fighter Mode and KHP in Attack Mode, and the two really are not comparable...right...?
I remember reading about people who would taxi into an enemy hanger and simply empty their guns into the walls to get their attack mode points up.

Straffing buildings in attack mode dramtically raises your kill hit% because they are easy to hit. Doing the same in fighter mode dramatically lowers it as buildings don't count in fighter mode. "Killing" a building isn't nessesary, only hitting or missing it matters.
Damage hit% only includes ords and the more that you can take down with a single ord the higher it will be. Bombing town centers in a Stuka with the 1800KG bomb is highly effective due to blast damage radius and will often produce damage hit% in excess of 1000%.

Still leaves me confused.
The first is for fighter mode, the seccond for attack mode. Different things, different numbers, different scores.

Interesting, so score wise the Cookie in center of town would reward the most damage hits %.

Yes.
That's why, in my opinion, bomber scoring is the one most removed from any in game 'skill' or 'mission success / efficiency'. Especially when you take into account that larger bombs give you way more score points per object destroyed as well.
So someone porking bases or killing factories with utmost precision and efficiency will in effect 'hurt' his bomber score a lot, compared to someone juts smashing town centers with bombs as big as possible.
This holds true for the bombing part of attack score, too.
