I certainly remember mine in a 152.

She's a lot nicer looking in the video.

The first solo was fun but the first "cross country" flight was way more exciting.

On second though it looks like she is leaving on a solo flight and not first solo.

Not ever flown a 152, only a 150 and 172.  Though, from the looks of things I'd still be cramped and depending on who has the controls between my instructor and myself the other would have to sit cock-eyed.  Not much room for a former Div I offensive lineman and a former Div II fullback to squeeze in to a 150.  But, we did it.

I followed some of that nice young lady's links showing my daughter. Would you believe she is a Marine?

I've received many questions from people wanting to know a little more about me. I enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2009 and have been afforded many great opportunities. I was stationed in Camp Fuji, Mainland Japan (About an hour South of Tokyo). There I performed many different jobs including Military Police. During the massive earthquake and tsunami, we assisted with humanitarian/disaster relief for Operation Tomodachi. I was then stationed in Camp Pendleton. From there I was deployed to Helmand Province, Afghanistan in FOB Edi. I was deployed with the Magnificent Bastards of 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines. There we went on daily operations outside the wire to support our Marines in other FOBs in the AO. After our return to Camp Pendleton, I started school full time, flying full time all while working full time. Now that I am honorably out of the Marines, I will continue to fly and go to school. I will post videos as time progresses so stay tuned!

But did it fly? I remember seeing two big guys squeeze into a 150. After a couple of runs down the runway with no evidence of levitation. They sheepishly taxied back in and said: 'We'll take the 172 instead.'

I have a lot of hours in 150s but when I came back to it after a few hundred hours in something a lot beefier it felt like a model plane.

As for the video. I'm not sure why it's so popular after all there are many out there with the same viewpoint. Even I have one on Youtube and that one includes skydivers with rock music. What can be the reason? :headscratch:   :lol

I played at Morningside College in Sioux City, IA.  My instructor played at Iowa.  I'm 6ft 1in and 235lbs, he is 2-3 inches taller than I and at least 280 lbs.

The 150 gets off the ground well enough.  We just cant wear any shoes and are unable to take a quart or two of water to drink.  No sammiches either.  All that adds weight, ya know.  ;)
