No.

Why? :headscratch:

Why? :headscratch:
Because a yak3 is faster than it at almost all alts.

No. Refer to your recent thread on the same subject rather than start a new thread.

Seeing that the last time I flew the XVI I out ran a 163 and a 262 at alt, the small perk cost is more than fair.
-
Just look at the speed charts, the most common LW fighters are faster than it is (P-51D, F-4U, Spit XIV, 109K4, ect...) and that is its only defense.....
"Well it is untouchable above 28,000 feet...."
The only reason people fly that high is to protect their perks, so removing the cost would bring them down and allow you to intercept....
I wouldn't mind a hit in ENY, which I think it could use....
(Many people argued against the unperking of the Spit XIV, and that wasn't the end of the world....)

That's why I routinely engaged 30K+ B-17s over the factories... ;)

The fighters are only faster up there and can intercept the mossy IF they are already at alt and waiting for the mossy. If you see a mossy fly over at alt and try to catch it to intercept you are going to be SOL. That is why it deserves the perk cost. It is too difficult to intercept.
Again, I was able to outrun a 163 and a 262 that tried to intercept me at alt.

But that is the main reason the Mossie XVI flys that high.....

When I get intercepted it is usually by a K4 or 51D who are usually below me but I like to fly it at less than 5k.....

Well that is your problem. I don't think HTC is going to unperk the Mossie just because you don't fly smart.

It will continue to fly at altitude by large, because players don't want to get shot down. And being unarmed, they will chose the best mission profile for not encountering any fighter.
Maybe I wasn't able to convey my point with the B-17 correctly. The majority of B-17's shot down over the central strats - even on large maps with no Me 163 base nearby - had been at very high altitudes. And that despite being perk free and well armed.
The Mossie has a mission profile and capability way beyond any 'ordinary' bomber, and is very difficult to intercept at all when flown correctly. And with it's oddly high OBJ it's very much capable to sustain its relatively perk cost on its own, a truly unique "feature".
The perk price is fully justified.

The highest I've ever been in the XVI is 15 or 16 kft. I attack airfields and regularly get within 3.0 distance from enemy fighters. I don't recall ever being shot down in the XVI by fighters inspite of being engaged in a dog fights multiple times. On my sortie yesterday I got 24 structures in the town with the single 4000 lbs bomb. Round trip was about 20 minutes that included 5 minutes of loitering, waiting for the town to pop-up, and circling around to find a gap in the fighters defense over the base. By the time the bombs landed on the town I was already 8-10 miles from the town headed for home at 450 mph. Fighters were within 3.0 distance but quickly game up a chase in favor of other targets.
Why unperk it if it costs no perks? remember that all perk planes are free if you land them. It is damn near untouchable if flown as a single bomber and some brain power is applied.

If there isnt a fighter already waiting up there, the mossie is impossible to intercept if hes coming at 15k+, what is an amazingly long ~7 mins climb with the full bombload.
This might deserve a perk cost.

7 minutes climb without WEP.
With WEP, 50% fuel (over 30 minutes), 4000+2*500 lbs bombs, it will do ~2700 fpm... that is better than some US fighters in clean configuration.

Agreed.
