Title: Small Towns

In the maps that we currently have, we know that there are towns near every base, decent looking, with roads and road-signs, restaurant buildings and even a hotel, if some of us haven't noticed. But outside of these towns, past the bases, outside tank-town, all we have is rural areas, just a bunch of farmland. I think it would be nice if there are scattered villages, or small towns placed randomly across the map so we wouldn't just have a bunch of empty farmland. They could even be placed at or around vehicle spawn areas so gv'ers could be involved in more urban tank combat, which is already a rare occurrence outside of tanktown, except on a few maps, specifically CraterMA and Ndisles.
It would be nice if there could be at least 2-3 of these in each sector, depending on the amount of land in the sector. They would have no AA guns, and the buildings would count as non-strat structures, so there would be no perks attained if any are destroyed. For the most part, these small towns are for eye candy, and then to at least try and encourage gv'ers at spawns to engage in more urban tank combat, which would be nice. I don't intend for them to be too big, just about the same size as the towns we have near bases, except without the hedges, and the same setup, if possible to easily incorporate varying layouts, including rises and hills in the terrain it's built on.

Have you seen the new terrain videos? It kinda points towards scattered small towns much like the small houses and barns we have now...

Yeah I've seen them. It appears that they may add just small groups of maybe 3-8 buildings. I don't want em to be too small, but about the size of towns near airfields. Minus the periphery, and keep the two centers and try and variate between layouts.

plus smaller centres of commerce such as rail station with a small town or a small local mill or factory that can be taken out.

Except for the fact that objects that there are objects that can be taken out, I don't thin HT would want to add anything that takes out the origin of supply vehicles, such as trains or the supply trucks. The mill would be best to add of the two.

I don't intend for these towns to be too big, or become large super-centers and whatnot. I want to have something out in the vast open nothingness of land between bases we have on maps. I wanted to have a max number per sector, spread out between certain distances, and numbered according to the amount of land in the sector. Note the small in "Small Towns"

yeah, like some small towns between the enemy spawn point and your base. Something to have 'mini battles' in.  Not just something in random nowhere that only a plane could even see. But something that GVs would run into on a somewhat-regular basis, that would have a mini tank town effect.

+1 if HTC isn't "on it" already   :D

Only on a few maps where the spawn is far from the base, this could apply, the tanks could go through on their way to base. But there's already a town, with actual strategic purpose, near the base, and most players would just disregard the town on the way there, as it only slows them down. I thought about having them out in the land between bases because there, (in the case of gv players) there is nothing of any strategic importance to the overall war effort, but just finding the right spot to camp a spawn, and having the towns there, could switch things up a little, especially if the gv'ers there wish to try something new.
