   Long timers will remember the old akdesert terrain aka the old pizza map.  I know that all the files for it are lost forever, BUT, not too long ago, someone posted a screenshot of the clipboard map for it.  I spent two hours last night going through thread after thread after I searched akdesert and pizza map.  None of them had that screenshot.  If I can get my hands on it, I will remake it for the community with a few changes.  It was a 512x512 map.  I will make it a 256x256 mile map.  I also won't make all the canyon walls 5k to 10k tall.  My idea is to make the outer ring at sea level, and increase each inner ring by a couple thousand ft., ending up with the center piece, which will be the tallest and contain the "tank town" area.  This central spot would be at about 10k.  Now I know people that didn't play AH1 probably have no idea what I'm talking about, so that pic of the clipboard map would help them also, by seeing what I'm talking about.  And yes, it would stay a desert map.  Those that have flown in the AvA have seen my desert textures and know the quality.

I just need to get my hands on that dang screenshot! :bhead

This is the best I can do....

I'm going to try to see if I can find a way to open it up in the Terrain Editor if I can find a old copy.

The .res wouldn't open offline (CTD).  Does anyone still have a copy of AH1?

It seems even this copy of AH1 doesn't possess the tiles for akdesert, right about when the graphics changed to the point akdesert wasn't compatible...

I'll keep searching!

I'm getting flashbacks to the 'Carry On Up the Khyber Campaign' in which Danny, Zack and I served, but +1 to a desert terrain. Will there also be vast expanses of sand?

I have quite a few old backups of AH. Will look for it. Just gotta find that silly 100 disc cylinder with the backups....

The first one on your list may work if it's in the right time period where I could use the terrain Crabby gave me.  That would help a bunch. :salute

Had lots of fun in akdesert! Awesome map. I have other versions of AH if this doesn't work.

Crabby download version 1114 from my link above. For me in Win7 32 (XP mode) it's still glitchy but works. Probably would work better on actual XP machine.

1st time it crashed but 2nd time on it worked. Anything that made it lose focus (like alt-tab or a pop-up message) killed it for me.
